Local Softball Teams Go Far in State Championships

 Galway soft ball made it to the New York State High  School Athletic Association(NYSHSAA) championshipgame on Saturday, June 13. The team ultimately fell short in the penultimate game. Take nothing away from this historic season; this was Galway’s first appearance in a state fi nal ever. The Golden Eagles were one run short of securing the state title, losing 4-3 to Deposit-Hancock. Saratoga Springs Soft ball won their second section 2 class AAA title in three years this year. They beat Cicero-North Syracuse in the regional round but fell short to Lancaster 4-3 in the semifinal game.
