SARATOGA COUNTY’S SUCCESS DIDN’T HAPPEN BY ACCIDENT

For more than 50 years, Saratoga County has prospered under predominantly Republican leadership. The results deserve recognition, particularly as Democrats seek greater influence over Town and  County government.

Consider the facts.

Saratoga County has New York State’s lowest county property tax rate, approximately $1.77 per thousand dollars of assessed value. It maintains the lowest per-capita county government spending statewide and one of the lowest sales tax rates.

While much of Upstate New York has struggled with population losses, Saratoga County continues growing. In 2025, it ranked fifth statewide in population growth and first in attracting residents relocating from elsewhere in America.

Families are coming. Businesses are investing. Employment opportunities are expanding. Major employers, including GlobalFoundries, have helped establish Saratoga County as an important center of advanced manufacturing.

These achievements reflect decades of Republican emphasis on fiscal discipline, economic development, efficient government, and responsible taxation.

Democrats are now seeking to expand their influence over Town and County government. They deserve a fair hearing, but voters should demand an explanation of what policies they would change and how those changes would improve upon this record.

County elections should not become referendums on Donald Trump, national Republican personalities, or Democratic politicians in Washington and Albany.

This is Saratoga County. Local government should be judged by local results.

Republican leadership has helped create an exceptional quality of life  where families want to live, businesses want to invest, and taxpayers receive exceptional value, all in a safe environment.

Political change alone is not a policy. Nor is party affiliation a substitute for demonstrated competence.

Before embracing a different direction, voters should carefully examine what has worked, who made it work, and not cast a vote based upon  ideology.

Blind political ideology should never overshadow our civic responsibility to preserve policies that have proven successful and serve the common good. Good government is not about political power or partisan victories. It is about proven responsible leadership, sound judgment, and protecting the prosperity and quality of life that our Republican leaders have worked to achieve.

Saratoga County has become one of New York’s greatest success stories because of Conservative Republican leadership and  it’s future deserves the same careful stewardship that helped build its prosperity.
