As we all know kindergarten is a very important grade, it's the beginning of a child's learning skills on all different levels.
Mrs. Whitcomb is the first teacher I've seen in a long time go above and beyond with my 6yr old son Brennon and he doesn't even have her as a teacher. (Technically!) The first thing that caught my eye is in September was when Brennon was telling me about his “lunch dates” every Wednesday with Teresa… I just had to meet her one on one. We decided to do a play date with Brennon and her son whom is only a grade ahead of mine, it all started from there. Long story short… we have fun inside and outside of school together, she invites me in to read to her students during class and sit in as a guest (both hers and Mrs. Culloras, who is my son’s actual teacher) we have after school dances and sport activities together as well as out to dinner and monster jam events. For a teacher to plan outside of school fun-filled learning dates with a student and his parent is pretty amazing right there and taking Bren underneath her wing is a plus in any parent’s book! Bren looks for her every morning before he heads to class to visit while she puts gel in his hair, no one can do it like Mrs. Whitcomb! If he doesn't like the snack I pack him he runs and swings open her door in the middle of her class and asks for her secrete goldfish stash! Her classroom loves it when Bren visits for a few. When Bren is sick she comes to the house with his fav juice and book to read to him. It’s unexplainable the look on his face when he sees her in school and outside of school. This past weekend she even took him on his first ice fishing experience with her family, he didn't want to leave! I love how she even throws a little bit of learning in whatever fun that we are doing! So as a parent, I'm extremely grateful for a teacher like Teresa to be a part of not just Brennon’s but our whole family’s life! She is family and I know Brennon and ours isn't the only family heart she's touched, there's so many little munchkins in Corinth School that absolutely adore and love her like we do! Now that's a teacher who puts her needs and time last and the students first! Thank you Teresa - we love you very much! Keep on rockin’! {jvotesystem poll=|9|}
