History, Legends, Lore & More - A Guided Walking Tour
Saratoga Springs Heritage Area Visitor Center, 297 Broadway, Saratoga Spring | 10:30 a.m. – Noon
This 90-minute historical walking tour celebrates Saratoga’s Victorian era and the classic Victorian stroll.  Join us, Monday through Saturday, as we stroll through Congress Park, take the waters and hear the stories of our most colorful characters, beloved monuments and treasured artwork.  This tour is a family-friendly and educational event with something for first-time visitors and Saratoga natives alike. Living History Tour
Grant Cottage, 1000 Mt. McGregor Rd., Saratoga Springs | 3 – 4 p.m.

Step back in time to 1885 as a guide in period dress and character takes you through the rooms of the historic cottage lit by early Edison light bulbs. Experience the cottage and grounds (weather permitting) just as Victorian Era visitors would have as you are told the compelling story of the Grant family and the heroic efforts of their patriarch, famed Civil War General and two-term U.S. President Ulysses S. Evening at the Museum
The Children’s Museum at Saratoga, 69 Caroling St., Saratoga Springs | 4:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Families are invited to join for a fun-filled evening at the Museum. Enjoy all that CMAS has to offer with an option to participate in an out-of -this-world program to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11. Extended hours are included with admission. Program requires pre-registration with an additional $5 material fee. All ages.

Knights of Columbus Fish Fry
50 Pine Rd., Saratoga Springs | 5 – 8 p.m.

For $12 ($1 extra for take-out), you get a generous portion of fried or baked haddock or 8 oz. of fried clams, french fries, coleslaw, tartar sauce, and cocktail sauce. Also available for purchase will be New England clam chowder, macaroni and cheese, and dessert. ESAM Celebrates 35th Anniversary
Empire State Aeroscience Museum, 250 Rudy Chase Drive, Glenville | 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Join the Empire State Aeroscience Museum as it celebrates its 35th Anniversary. Activities will kick off at 8 a.m. with a Continental Breakfast featuring bagels, assorted muffins, fruit, coffee, tea, juice, etc. An opening ceremony will take place at 10 a.m., followed by music with the SUNY Schenectady Choraliers and other musical groups throughout the day. Helicopter rides will be available from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. At 2 p.m., celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo Lunar Landing in Gallery II. Walking Tour of the Vischer Ferry Historic District
Vischer Ferry General Store, 357 Riverview Rd., Rexford | 10 a.m. 

The Saratoga Country History Roundtable will sponsor a walking tour of the Vischer Ferry Historic District led by Clifton Park Historian John Scherer. It is a typical Erie Canal hamlet with a high concentration of Greek revival homes constructed by canal boat builders who worked at the two Erie Canal dry docks located in the hamlet.  Learn about the Erie Canal and the growth it brought to a sleepy hamlet settled by the Dutch in the mid-18th century.  Explore architecture styles from Clifton Park’s oldest home built by Nicholas Vischer in 1740 to a large Queen Anne Victorian home constructed in 1902. At the conclusion of the tour enjoy lunch at the restored Vischer Ferry General Store. Parking is at the store and across the street at the fire house.

Tang Family Saturdays
Tang Museum, Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs | 2 – 3:30 p.m. 

Suitable for children ages 5 and up with their adult companions. Programs include a brief tour of a current Tang exhibition followed by a hands-on art activity. Free and open to the public. Reservations are strongly suggested. Call 518-580-8080.

Georgia Horner explores the Saratoga Race Course area along Union Avenue featuring the Reading Rooms, National Museum of Racing, Oklahoma Track, and Fasig-Tipton Humphrey S. Finney Sales Pavilion. Enjoy a summer afternoon of songs from the roots and branches of American folk music. These free, family-friendly concerts will take place under the pergola in our beautiful Community Gardens.
