The Sheriff’s Office responded to a home on Brookwood Road in the Town of Halfmoon to assist the town Code Enforcement Department. It was found that a large number of canines were living in deplorable conditions at that location. Derrick J. Sud-Nieves, 29, of Halfmoon, was subsequently arrested and charged with 35 counts of NYS Agriculture and Markets Law, section 353 – Overdriving, torturing and injuring animals; failure to provide proper sustenance.
