Community Hospice to Host Fundraiser for African Hospice Partners

A fund-raising reception with three South African hospice partners of Community Hospice is set for Thursday, October 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Spring Street Gallery, 110 Spring Street. The Africans will be guests of Community Hospice, a regional non-profit of the capital region, which has partnered with them since 2000. 

The reception hopes to raise awareness and funds for the African Hospices. Jordan Taylor Hill, a local diaspora musician and dancer will provide entertainment, along with refreshments from Nine Miles East. 

“Funds are needed more than ever due to the crippling effects of climate change in Africa, and the recent abrupt cuts to foreign aid by the international community, including the USA,” said Di Sorbo.

Event sponsorship is available and individual attendees are asked to donate $50 to the Community Hospice Foundation Africa Fund via the website: givetocommunityhospice.org.
