Halfmoon First Responder Appreciation Day

This community event is a heartfelt gesture to recognize and celebrate the unwavering dedication and service of Halfmoon’s first responders. Complimentary food and beverages, including hamburgers and hot dogs, will be provided as a token of the Town’s immense gratitude. Families of Halfmoon’s first responders are also welcome to attend this complimentary event. Saturday, September 7, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Halfmoon Outdoor Pavilion (near the Senior Center), 2 Halfmoon Town Plaza, Halfmoon. 

Attendees are asked to RSVP by Friday, August 30, by calling 518-371-7410, ext. 2200, to ensure the Town can prepare for their attendance.

Monthly Indoor Craft and Garage Sale  

Sunday, September 8, from 11-3 p.m. at the Saratoga-Wilton Elks Club off Marion Avenue on Elks Lane.  Admission is free with over 40 vendors; parking is great, bargains galore, and lunch.  We offer a variety of shopping with necklace sets, earrings, body lotions, clothing, as well as household items, knitted and crocheted gifts, hand-made items, clothing, Antiques, Vintage items, hand-painted rocks, food treats and just about anything you can imagine may be found here.  New vendors sign up every month. 14th Annual Curtis Lumber Car and Truck Show

Calling all car and truck enthusiasts! Join us at Curtis Lumber on September 8 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Curtis Lumber, 885 State Route 67, Ballston Spa for a fun, family-friendly day at one of the largest car and truck shows in the Capital Region. FREE to spectate with free parking! Whether you own a classic, a modern marvel, or a custom tuner, all makes and models are welcome to showcase–there’s no cut-off year! Academy for Lifelong Learning Fall Open House

Tuesday, September 10 at Knights of Columbus, 50 Pine Rd, Saratoga Springs, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. Free and open to the public. Come and discover what the Academy is all about. Hear from volunteer course leaders about their 22 fall courses starting the week of October 7. Meet fellow seniors, enjoy a slide show and raffles, socialize, register. 2024 Swing for Music Golf Tournament

The Saratoga Chamber Players is planning the 2024 Swing for Music golf tournament, and we hope you will save the date to join us.  The proceeds will support our programming in the Saratoga elementary schools and our outreach to seniors as well as our dazzling chamber music concerts. The event will take place at Airway Meadows golf course on Friday, September 13. We look forward to your participation in the 9-hole scramble. Registration begins at 3:15 p.m. with a shotgun start at 3:45 p.m. The fee is $80. It includes prizes and the traditional taco dinner following the round of golf. Registration forms will go out in July, but meanwhile please mark your calendars and share this information with your leagues and fellow golfers. Meet the Breeds

September 14 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at 4-H Training Center, 556 Middleline Rd., Ballston Spa. This event gives dog lovers the unique opportunity to meet with more than 25 different breeds. Learn about each breed’s historical purpose/function, traits, and attributes as a family pet, all while learning about responsible dog ownership and which breeds may be right for your family. Free and open to the public. There will be demonstrations for agility and obedience, K-9 Officer, and Newfie draft.  Meet with local canine businesses including trainers and veterinarians. “Babes In Toyland” Auditions

The Town of Malta Spotlighter’s Theatre Troupe presents ‘Babes In Toyland’, produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Services. Auditions are Sunday, September 15 or Wednesday, September 18; by appointment only. Looking for actors and actresses, singers and dancers, children, teens and adults for this upbeat musical to be performed on the Malta Community Center Stage December 14 & 15. 27th Annual Autumn Jewels Show

The Southern Saratoga Art Society’s 27th Annual Autumn Jewels Show will be held from October 1 – Oct 30 at the Clifton Park Community Senior Center, 6 Clifton Common Blvd., Clifton Park.  This is a judged show featuring cash prizes for artwork and photography and is open to the public.  A reception and award presentation will be held on Monday, October 28, 6:30 p.m. at the Senior Center.  Deadline for entry is Friday, September 20, 2024.  For Entry form and fees, go to: www.southernsaratogaartist.com

7th Annual Dan Provost Memorial Walk for Awareness and Recovery

Registration, fun and games begin at 9 a.m. with a 1.25-mile family-friendly walk at approx. 10 a.m.  Refreshments, free Narcan training, addiction recovery resources and program information and numerous raffle items will be available. The Walk is in memory of Saratoga resident Dan Provost, who passed away in 2014 at age 23 as a result of a drug overdose after struggling for several years with substance use disorder. The purpose of the Walk is to remember lives taken too soon, to raise awareness of addictions, to educate the community about recovery services and celebrate those living in recovery.  Suggested individual donation is $10, family donation $20. Academy for Lifelong Learning Announces Tour to Tuscany, November 10 – 18, 2024,  is an enchanting medley of Renaissance cities, rolling hills and terraced vineyards. Honoring Veterans of the Revolutionary War 

The Town of Milton’s 250th Revolutionary War Committee will hold a ceremony on August 31, at 11 a.m. to commemorate a sign honoring veterans of the Revolutionary War at North Milton Cemetery located on the north side of Route 29, on the east corner of North Milton Road.  The color guard of the Saratoga Battle Chapter Sons of the American Revolution will execute a musket fire salute in period uniforms.  The purpose of this committee is to draw attention to, and educate the public about important people, places, and events of the Town of Milton as they relate to the American Revolution.  For more information contact Michael Golden at mgolden1775@gmail.com/

4th Annual Tunnel to Towers Benefit

Since 9/11, T2T has been helping America’s heroes by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families and by building specially adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. We are also committed to eradicating veteran homelessness and helping America to never forget September 11, 2001. The event will be held on Saturday, August 31 at 2117 Barrett Rd., Ballston Spa at 6 p.m.  Tickets are $75 per person, including live music by Skippy and The Pistons, comedy show by Colin Quinn, and exciting raffles. Improv Spaces @ Saratoga Arts presents an outdoor performance and album release by Jonathan Moritz and Mike Pride on Sunday, September 1, 6:30 – 8 p.m. at Saratoga Arts 320 Broadway, Saratoga Springs. With SUMMERTIME collaborators Jonathan Moritz (sax) and Mike Pride (percussion) bring together an amalgam of avant-garde jazz, lo-fi, sound collage, improv, field recording, with a touch of psychedelic production. “The laughter and screaming of our children, the stream gurgling, the splashes of rocks were not added afterwards but in the background during the recordings, an ode to our daily life.” — Jonathan Moritz.

Adirondack A’s and Lakeside Farms’ Annual Classic Car show will be at Lakeside Farms, Ballston Lake, on Sunday, August 25. Rain or Shine from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is limited to stock appearing vehicles prior to 1975. Car registration fee is $5 on the day of the show. Spectator parking and admission is free. Town of Greenfield Historical Society will host their 14th annual Caboose Day at Kings Station on Saturday, August 10, 2024 – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tour Kings Station and Caboose at Corner of Route 9N and Porter Road. Makers Revolution and Sustainable Food Movement

August 10 and 11, Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. We will be showcasing over 75 of the best and brightest Artisans in the local and regional Maker and Artisanal Specialty Food community. These Makers, who have been selectively juried, will converge within an eclectic village bringing forth the latest talent and hottest trends. Also, enjoy a Food Market including food trucks and prepackaged foods, a Book Market, a Tiny Bookmaking Workshop, and live music! Health, History, and Horses Charity Gala

Presented by Ladies of Charity, Saratoga Chapter. Funds raised are distributed annualy to established charities in Saratoga, Warren and Washington counties: Catholic Charities, food kitchens, shelters, and tuition support programs. Thursday, August 22 from 6 – 9 p.m. Held at Saratoga-Wilton elks Lodge, 1 Elks Lane, Saratoga Springs. 4th Annual Lemonade Stand Event

On Saturday, August 3, from 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m., the Ballston Spa Sunshine Kid’s Lemonade Stand returns at Ribbon Café, located at 11 Prospect St., Ballston Spa, rallying support for 9-year-old Charles Barton, who is courageously battling leukemia. The event promises a day filled with activities for all ages, including children’s activities organized by local organizations such as Ballston Area Community Center, Saratoga Children’s Museum, and Ballston Area Recreation Center. Visitors can enjoy music, vendor booths, and special appearances including visits from Ballston Spa’s EMS, miniature donkeys from Maple Leaf Farm, dancers from Carol Lawrence Dance Center, a DJ, stock cars, and a firetruck from Ballston Spa Fire station.

Vacation Bible School

Saratoga Automobile Museum’s Annual Gala

On July 26, the Saratoga Automobile Museum will present its Annual Gala, celebrating the Museum and the 2024 feature exhibition – “Enzo Ferrari: An Obsession with Speed.” This year’s Gala, of which legendary car collector Lawrence Auriana is the Honorary Chairman, will offer guests an unparalleled experience with a silent auction, book signing, cocktail hour, formal dinner, music, gaming tables, and more. Open Mic Coffee House

21st Annual J. Michael Fitzgibbons Memorial Golf Classic

5K Trail Series

Saratoga Springs Booster Club Field Hockey Camp

The Saratoga Springs Booster Club will be hosting its annual field hockey camp beginning on June 24 and ending on June 28 at Saratoga High School from 8 – 11 a.m. each day (except Monday- 5 -8 p.m.) on the turf. Town of Milton’s 250th Revolutionary War Committee Ceremony

This event, taking place on June 29 at 11a.m., is to commemorate a sign honoring veterans of the Revolutionary War at Grenell Cemetery on Grenell Road. The color guard of the Saratoga Battle Chapter Sons of the American Revolution will execute a musket fire salute in period uniforms. The purpose of this committee is to draw attention to, and educate the public about important people, places, and events of the Town of Milton as they relate to the American Revolution. Mostly Modern Festival

Returning to Saratoga for its fifth season from June 6 – 21, at the Arthur Zankel Music Center on the Skidmore College campus. There are 11 orchestral, vocal, and chamber concerts by festival and guest ensembles of mostly new music. Genealogy and Local History

Heritage Hunters meet Saturday, May 18, at 1 p.m. at the Town of Saratoga Town Hall, 12 Spring St.in Schuylerville. Joseph W. Zarzynski, a maritime archaeologist from Wilton and a former Social Studies teacher in the Saratoga Springs School District, will be the speaker. He will tell the story of the 44 ft. long British warship that had been burned and then sank into Lake George during a 1757 French raid upon Fort William Henry. In 1903 it was raised and unceremoniously cut up for souvenirs. Zarzynski will examine its history, with photographs and the story of surviving and repurposed artifacts. Public is welcome. The 20th Annual Team Billy Ride and Walk for Research 

To raise funds for the Billy Grey Research Chair. Sunday, May 19 at the Farmers’ Market at High Rock Park, Saratoga Springs. Three rides of 50, 25 and 10 miles will begin at 8:30 a.m., with a three-mile walk through the historic district starting at 9 a.m. The rides follow some of the most beautiful sections of Saratoga County, with the 50-mile bike ride through the Saratoga National Historic Park. This local event and ongoing donations have made possible over $2,900,000 in research grants for brain tumor research. All donations are tax deductible and made payable to the National Brain Tumor Society. Four Seasons Lodge 

Saratoga Jewish Community Arts and the Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York present a panel discussion of the documentary Four Seasons Lodge on May 19 at 7 p.m. The 2008 film grew out of a series of articles by Andrew Jacobs, a reporter for The New York Times and a novice director who was imaginative enough to enlist the help of the outstanding cinematographer Albert Maysles.  While the film is labeled a Holocaust documentary, it is not your typical Shoah story. Sunset Yoga

Greenfield Rec has added some adult exercise classes for the first time. Sunset Yoga will take place for five weeks beginning May 21 from 7 – 8 p.m.  in Middle Grove Park, 428 Middle Grove Rd., Middle Grove for $10. 4-H Fashion Revue

A great way to exhibit your skills, to have your projects evaluated, and to connect with 4-H’ers who have a “Passion for Fashion”. The goal of Fashion Revue is to develop an understanding of personal representation in public situations regarding clothing, accessories, and grooming. Annual Meeting of East Line Union Cemetery 

The annual meeting and election of Officers of the East Line Union Cemetery will be held Saturday May 11 at 10 a.m. at the Malta Community Center at 1 Bayberry Drive (corner of Bayberry & Rt. 9 – north of Town Hall).   The meeting is open to all lot owners and family members.   Donations to the cemetery for repairs and general upkeep are gladly accepted and can be sent to the East Line Union Cemetery, Inc. at P.O. Historic Homes Tour

This highly anticipated event held on May 11 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. offers the rare opportunity to see the interiors of private historic homes and buildings in the North Broadway neighborhood of Saratoga Springs. Private residences on North Broadway, Greenfield Avenue, and Woodlawn Avenue will be featured. Lunch & Learn 

Join Carol Godette on May 11 for Lunch & Learn program “On This Spot: 628 North Broadway” where she will take a closer look at the history of the building. Learn how this 1887 Queen Anne, designed by prominent local architect R. Newton Brezee, went from being the residence of philanthropic, civic-minded leaders of Saratoga Springs to a well-respected funeral home. Program starts at Noon at William J. The 20th Annual Team Billy Ride and Walk for Research 

To raise funds for the Billy Grey Research Chair. Sunday, May 19 at the Farmers’ Market at High Rock Park, Saratoga Springs. Three rides of 50, 25 and 10 miles will begin at 8:30 a.m., with a three-mile walk through the historic district starting at 9 a.m. The rides follow some of the most beautiful sections of Saratoga County, with the 50-mile bike ride through the Saratoga National Historic Park. This local event and ongoing donations have made possible over $2,900,000 in research grants for brain tumor research. All donations are tax deductible and made payable to the National Brain Tumor Society. Mostly Modern Festival

Returning to Saratoga for its fifth season from June 6 – 21, at the Arthur Zankel Music Center on the Skidmore College campus. There are 11 orchestral, vocal, and chamber concerts by festival and guest ensembles of mostly new music. The festival also hosts the Mostly Modern Festival Institute, a three-week intensive with a distinguished 50-member faculty for up to 30 composers and 100 instrumentalists, vocalists, and conductors. SAIL Fundraiser Garage Sale

Donations wanted for the annual Southern Adirondack Independent Living Garage Sale (SAIL). The sale will be held at the Queensbury location at 71 Glenwood Ave., June 13 – 15.
