2025 AFS Summer Festival

The Adirondack Folk School’s Summer Festival is full of live music, food trucks, artist demos and activities for the whole family to enjoy! First, start at the regatta of Wee Lassie canoes made at the school at Wayside Beach, located at 286 Lake Ave (Rt. 9N), Lake Luzerne, at 9 a.m.  Afterwards, the rest of the festival is at the folk school located at 51 Main Street, Lake Luzerne.  It’s free to attend, so stop by to see what we’re all about.  Saturday July 26, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Exclusive Trunk Show

Fifth Annual Lemonade Stand Benefit

Ballston Spa Sunshine Kids Host a family-friendly fundraising event to support Oliver (“Ollie”), a 5-year-old from the Saratoga area who is currently undergoing treatment for leukemia, diagnosed on Christmas Day. This year’s benefit features free kids’ activities, including: a bounce house, face painting, live music, fire trucks to explore, crafts, raffles, food and lemonade. Plus, local organizations and groups are joining in support, including Ballston Spa Fire Department, Ballston Spa EMS, Ballston Spa Wrestling & Football Teams, Boy Scouts, The Saratoga Children’s Museum, Local performances, and much more. Saturday, August 2, 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. at The Ribbon Café, 11 Prospect St., Ballston Spa. All proceeds go directly to Oliver’s care and to support his family during this difficult time. Music Coffee House 

Middle Grove United Methodist Church will be having a Music Coffee House Saturday, August 2.  Come join us for a night of music and light fare BY DONATION ONLY.  5 – 6 p.m. – Pulled Pork Sliders – Hot Dogs – Beverages.  6 – 9 p.m. music with intermission and baked goods served.  Artists to perform are Bob Wilson – Acoustic Covers (ie: Van Morrison, Stevie Nicks), Mary Lamb – Guitar (ie: Old Country), Out of Reach Band (ie: Classic Rock Covers).  The church is located at 429 Middle Grove Rd (corner of Middle Grove & North Creek Rd.)

Emma’s Breakfast Buffet

The Knickerbocker Historical Society and Emma’s Foundation invite you to attend Emma’s Breakfast Buffet on Sunday, August 3 from 8 – 11:30 a.m. at the Knickerbocker Mansion, 132 Knickerbocker Road, Schaghticoke. Saratoga Summer Hang 

Sunday, August 3 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. at the Dancing Grain Farm Brewery (Town of Moreau).  An all-day outdoor “micro music fest” with a national touring act, food trucks and mellow vibes at a real working family farm, located at 180 Old West Rd., Gansevoort.  Featuring a performance by rising star Hayley Jane and her Band.  Blending the raw power of rock, the soul of folk, and the dramatic intensity of a film score into a genre-defying performance.  Bring your own chair, free parking, no service fees on tickets.  A benefit event for Saratoga Music Coalition and Bar People. Turning Point Parade and Festival

The Turning Point Parade and Festival returns to Schuylerville from Sunday, August 3 through Saturday, August 9, 2025. The week offers more than a dozen free public programs designed to celebrate Saratoga’s Revolutionary War legacy while engaging families in hands-on history, science, and 

cultural storytelling. Events are free and open to the public, with locations across the Village of Schuylerville and nearby Hudson Crossing Park. Anchored by the 30th annual Turning Point Parade on Sunday, August 3 at 1 pm, the week includes walking tours, living history, canal-era heritage events, and nature-based learning. 12th Annual Sarcoma Strong 5K Run/Walk

August 9, beginning at 9 a.m. at Saratoga Spa State Park, to raise awareness of Sarcoma, a cancer found in connective tissues, bones, cartilage, fatty tissue, and muscles. As a rare cancer, research funding is hard to come by and events like this 5k Run/Walk help and raise critical funds for sarcoma research. Parking for the event will be available in Spa Little Theater and Saratoga Auto Museum lots. Registration is open at www.sarcomastrong.com/run. T-shirts are available for the first 300 registrants for the in-person event. All proceeds from the event will be used towards sarcoma cancer research.

Broadway Stars Drama Camp

Town of Malta Parks and Recreation announces there are still a few openings in Broadway Stars Drama Camp on the Malta Community Center Stage, 1 Bayberry Drive, Malta NY 12020 with Elyse Young, Artistic Director.  Camp is for ages 6-10 and runs from 1 -3 p.m.; Monday, August 11 – Friday, August 14. Learn musical numbers from Broadway shows, complete with scene work, costumes and simple choreography! Camp includes theater games, crafts, acting exercises and performance on the last day! 2025 Fire Feast

A vibrant, open-air gathering to celebrate our regional food system and the community that makes it possible. Taking place on Thursday, August 14 from 6 – 9 p.m. at Pitney Meadows Community Farm, located at 223 West Ave., Saratoga Springs. This year’s feast will be crafted by Farmstead Catering at Echo Farm. All ingredients will be sourced directly from the fields of Pitney Meadows and Echo Farm, ensuring a meal that is not only seasonal and sustainable but also deeply rooted in place. Guests will enjoy a multi-course, live-fire meal prepared by a team of dedicated farm-to-table chefs, along with live music, local libations, and a silent auction. Celebrate Jane Austen’s 250th Birthday

The Jane Austen Society of North America Capital Region invites you to join a weekend retreat at the Wiawaka Center for Women on Lake George August 15 – 17. Special guest is Molly Williams who will discuss her new illustrated book, “Jane Austen’s Garden: A Botanical Tour of the Classic Novels.”  Other activities include a reception with Regency-style treats and drinks, games and amusements and Regency dance lessons and ball. An original theater production, “Jane Austen Spills the Tea with Lena and Laura,” and a two-act drama, “Persuasion” rounds out the events. 19th Annual Car Show

On Saturday, August 16, the Clifton Park Elks Lodge will hold their 19th Annual Car, Truck and Bike Show. The Lodge is located at 695 MacElroy Road, Ballston Lake, NY. All years and makes of cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome. We will present awards to the top vehicles. Fun, Music, 50/50 Raffles, and Great Food. Come see the contestant vehicles!!! The contestant entry fee is $20; Spectators are free. Proceeds benefit the Elks National Foundation and the NYSEA Major Project Fund (Cerebral Palsy Home Service Program). Health, History, and Horses Charity Gala

Presented by Ladies of Charity, Saratoga Chapter. Funds raised are distributed annually to established charities in Saratoga & Warren/Washington Counties: Catholic Charities, food kitchens, shelters, and tuition support programs. Saturday, July 19, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Join us for a FREE fun day in Congress Park. There will be games, crafts, face painting, activities, a toddler play area, free snacks and live music. We will even have free tokens for the Carousel! All this is just to bring the people of Saratoga together for some free fun and entertainment. Frances Day 2025

Celebrate the Tang’s 25th anniversary at our annual summer open house with art, artmaking, tours, music, food and more. The open house will be on Saturday, July 19, beginning at 2 p.m. This year’s event is extra special: the Tang is turning 25 in 2025, and Frances Day marks the first celebration of the milestone year. At 5 p.m., guests are invited to a concert on the lawn with the Albany-based indie-rock band Dan Carr and the Cure for Asthma. All events are free and open to the public. Heritage Hunters 

We will meet Saturday, July 19, at 1 p.m. at the Town of Saratoga Town Hall, 12 Spring St. in Schuylerville. Bobbi Reno, historian for the town of East Greenbush, will present the program “The Illegal Execution of Pvt. Samuel Helms.” Samuel Helms, stationed in Ulster County during the War of 1812, was arrested and charged with desertion in 1813 and brought to the U. S. Army post, the Greenbush Cantonment, to face a court martial. His execution took place later in 1813. Bobbi’s 15-year research shows that he should only have been charged with going AWOL. She is determined to have his name cleared and to locate his grave. Public is welcome. For information call 518-885-9309.

The Town of Greenfield Historical Society is looking for classic cars, trucks, and motorcycles for their annual Car Show.  It will be held Saturday July 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Middle Grove Town Park, 428 Middle Grove Road, Middle Grove.  Registration is $10 day of show – Top 15 trophies announced at 2:45 p.m. Mark your calendars – bring your friends and a folding chair because Live Music will be provided by local musicians.  Vendors, food, drinks available for purchase. “A Day in the Country” Chicken BBQ Fundraiser

17th Annual An Unbridled Affair Gala Fundraiser

The Tang Teaching Museum at Skidmore College announces An Evening with Poets in “a field of bloom and hum” on Friday, June 27, at 8 p.m. A collaboration with the New York State Summer Writers Institute, the evening is curated by acclaimed poet Tom Healy. The event takes place in the second-floor gallery, where one long wall features the work by more than 140 artists from the early twentieth century to today, forming a tapestry of identity, memory, and community. 30th Annual Saratoga Soroptimist Secret Gardens Tour

 Nine spectacular gardens in Saratoga Springs are featured on the tour, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 29. Purchase $30 advance tickets at www.soroptimistsaratoga.org or at Northshire Bookstore, Cudney’s Cleaners, Faddegon’s Nursery or Adirondack Trust Co. branches. Day-of tickets for $35 will be sold online and from 9:30 a.m. to noon while supplies last outside the Saratoga Springs Visitor Center, 297 Broadway. Craft Fair at Brookside 

The Saratoga County History Center is thrilled to announce our annual county-wide craft and antique fair! This family-friendly free event will be held at the beautiful Brookside Museum on Saturday, June 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests will be able to shop from dozens of vendors with a wide variety of locally handcrafted collectibles, gifts, antiques, farm products, food and much more! This is a terrific opportunity for New Yorkers to sample, appreciate, and support the best of upstate artisans, farmers, and culinarians. Hundreds of books will be arrayed on the iconic front porch of Brookside Museum. 

30th Annual Saratoga Soroptimist Secret Gardens Tour

 Nine spectacular gardens in Saratoga Springs are featured on the tour, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 29. The location will be held at the fraternal order of Eagles # 2586, 373 Crescent Ave., Saratoga Springs on Lake lonely, Sunday, June 15, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. It’s open to kids 14 and under, all of whom must be accompanied by an adult guardian. Worms will be supplied, but kids should bring their own fishing poles and tackle. The derby includes free hot dogs, chips, and sodas; as well as prizes for fish caught in different categories. 

Town of Greenfield Summer Farmers Market

Thursday evenings, June 19 – September 18, at Middle Grove Park, 428 Middle Grove Rd. from 4 – 7 p.m. Shop, play, eat and stay for the evening to enjoy the outdoors. Local vendors will be selling bread, baked goods, candies, eggs, flowers, jams/jellies, wine, maple syrup products, pickles, pierogies, apparel, and more. There is also a lot of artisan merchandise like woodwork, glassware, homemade soaps, jewelry, candles, apparel, pottery herbal apothecary, handbags, and other gifts. Saratoga Race Course Tours

In celebration of the Belmont Stakes, the Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation is thrilled to offer two exclusive behind-the-scenes walking tours of the historic Saratoga Race Course, Friday, June 6 at 9:30 a.m. or Sunday, June 8 at 9:30 a.m. A rare opportunity to explore the oldest and one of the most iconic sporting venues in the United States. Led by the Foundation’s Executive Director, Samantha Bosshart, this special walking tour will take participants through both the public and lesser-known sides of the race course. CAPTAIN Community Human Services is proud to present the 16th Annual Route 50 Mile on Thursday, June 12, kicking off at the corner of Route 50 and Kingsley in Burnt Hills at 6:50 p.m. This special anniversary year will also see the Route 50 Mile as part of the USATF Adirondack 2025 Grand Prix Series. This family-friendly community event is the area’s premier one-mile race and is followed immediately by the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Business and Professional Association Flag Day Parade. The Fate of the Day

Northshire Bookstore & Saratoga, America’s Turning Point, are thrilled to present an evening with Pulitzer Prize-winning author and historian Rick Atkinson, in celebration of The Fate of the Day: The War for America, Fort Ticonderoga to Charleston, 1777-1780, the second volume of his landmark American Revolution trilogy. Atkinson will discuss the book and his work with Joe Donahue of WAMC/Northeast Public Radio. Bingo Fundraiser

Cancer can rob someone of happiness. A small gesture of giving a gift to a patient who is at the end of their rope is our goal.    “A Night Out For You” is a customized experience that will bring them joy and allow patients to have something to look forward to and forget their diagnosis for a few hours.  Please help us keep giving these patients a night out by donating to or attending the Bingo Fundraiser to be held on Sunday, June 1, at the Saratoga Wilton Elks Club. Festival of Young Artists 

A free community festival on Sunday, June 1 from 2 – 5:30 p.m. Following the theme Wonder – inspired by the work of 24th U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limón – the festival will celebrate the collaborative creativity of more than 700 of the Capital Region’s brightest young dancers, musicians, singers, poets, and visual artists in support of SPAC’s mission to provide free and accessible arts programming for local youth. Featuring students from local schools and organizations, the afternoon will include individual pop-up performances and art displays, culminating in a large-scale, coordinated production on stage. As part of the production, original musical composition by festival student, Siyi Guo (Guilderland HS, Grade 12), will premiere on the stage, performed by the ESYO Symphony Orchestra.
