SARATOGA SPRINGS — The seventh annual Saratoga International Flavorfeast will take place 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8. The popular local food festival marks its returns after a two-year pandemic hiatus. 

During the event attendees may travel the streets of downtown Saratoga Springs and experience a feast of flavors from around the globe while enjoying multi-cultural street performances throughout the day.

“Our inspiration for creating this event was to showcase the variety of restaurants we enjoy in this region and to highlight the tremendous skills of our local chefs,” event co-organizer Ashley Dingeman said, in a statement. “Fall is a beautiful time of year to walk the streets of Saratoga, and sample incredible tastes from local restaurants representing countries from all around the world.”

Flavorfeast “passport-maps,” which display participating restaurants/businesses can be picked up in front of Fingerpaint Marketing on the corner of Broadway and Division Street, beginning at 11 a.m. on festival day. 

Food samples will be available for $1 or $2. Participating venues include: Ben & Jerry’s, Boca Bistro, Brick at 2 West, Cantina, Cardona’s Market Saratoga, Gaffney’s, Henry St. Taproom, Kaleidoscope Café, Karavalli, Saratoga Olive Oil Company, Solevo, Sushi Thai Garden, The District at 43 Phila, The Parting Glass, Trattoria Fortunata and West Avenue Chicken.

Anne’s Washington Inn recently hosted some of the hard-working farmers who participated in Saratoga Springs’ annual Giant Pumpkinfest that took place Saturday, September 24.

One of the benefits of hosting the farmers… you get to keep over 5,000 pounds of pumpkins!

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Giant pumpkin growers from the Northeast gathered at the Saratoga Springs City Center on Sept. 24 for the 7th Annual Saratoga Giant PumpkinFest.

BALLSTON SPA — On Saturday, September 24, Brookside Museum will host the Stewart’s Century of Ice Cream Exhibit. The exhibit celebration will take place from 1 – 4 p.m. and include ice cream, face painting and a bounce house for the kids on the museum lawn. Everyone is welcome to attend.

WILTON — Helen Edelman and Bill Walker of Wilton were married Sept. 4, 2022 at The Wishing Well in Wilton. The ceremony was officiated by close friend and pastor Pierre Zimmerman. Edelman and Walker met in 1978 at Skidmore College and, over decades, developed a respectful and meaningful friendship that blossomed in 2017 into a committed relationship they made official surrounded by three generations of family and close friends.

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Sustainable Saratoga will hold their 6th annual Saratoga Recycles Day on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 9 a.m. – noon, in the SPAC overflow parking lot on the west side of Route 50. And, for the first time, there will also be a separate Paint Collection Day in the same location on Oct. 2, from 12 noon – 3 p.m. 

Anyone can participate: There are no residency requirements for this event. Cost is $5 per household vehicle fee, plus $30 per TV or monitor. Cash or check accepted.

On Recycles Day, Sustainable Saratoga will accept clothing & textiles (any condition), scrap metal, eyeglasses, hearing aids, adult bikes, 20 and 24-inch mountain bikes, musical instruments, backpacks, cell phones with chargers, camping gear, and more. eLot will collect appliances and electronics (including TVs). There will be an additional $30 fee per TV or monitor.  And Youth2 will give out bamboo reusable towels to the first 100 cars. Paint will not be accepted on Oct. 1. 

On Paint Collection Day, Sustainable Saratoga and our partner, Green Sheen, will accept interior and exterior household paint, deck coatings, stains, shellacs, sealers, urethanes, waterproofing sealers, metal coatings, field, and lawn paints. No aerosols. Containers should not be empty or leaking. No other items will be accepted on Oct. 2.

SARATOGA SPRINGS — The 8th Annual Giant Pumpkinfest will take place on Saturday, Sept. 24, in downtown Saratoga Springs. 

Growers from across New York State and the Northeast will gather to compete for the title of “Biggest Pumpkin of Year” along with additional categories and prizes. 

The event, held at the Saratoga Springs City Center parking garage, kicks off with the official weigh off beginning at 10 a.m. 

Presented by the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce,  a new addition to Pumpkinfest this year features a Pumpkin Drop. Beginning at 12:30 p.m., the public will have a chance to watch as large pumpkins are dropped from four stories off of the side of the City Center parking garage onto a concrete sidewalk.

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Saratoga’s 5th Annual Wing Off will take place 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1. 

Attendees will be able to visit participating locations, try $2 wings, and vote for their favorites.
