Patricia Ann Boyle O’Toole, “Patti,” died peacefully on February 26, 2024. She was 85 years old.

The eldest of four children born to Margaret Lautrup and Dr. Edward Leo Boyle, Patti lived an idyllic childhood in Saratoga Springs, NY. Patti was Valedictorian of the Saratoga High School class of 1956 and received the honor of the Yaddo Medal. Patti attended Trinity College in Washington, DC, and earned her MBA from New York University.

In 1970, Patti met and married the love of her life, Dr. James Joseph O’Toole. Patti and Jim moved to Ridgefield, CT, where they spent 30 years dedicated to raising their five children. Blessed with 47 years together, Patti and Jim exemplified the commitment of marriage to their family. The lifelong friendships they developed and nurtured in Ridgefield, Saratoga, and Charlestown Beach, RI, were treasured and are held dear by the friends and family who knew them best. Patti enjoyed a vibrant career in finance and spent many years as a Realtor in both Ridgefield and Saratoga.

If you had the good fortune of knowing Patti O’Toole, you witnessed a life lived with abundant energy every single day. Patti had an uncanny ability to connect with people and built an enormous community of friends throughout her life, many of whom she had known since childhood. Her family will remember Patti for her dedication to others, deep faith, extraordinary work ethic, and impressively fast walking pace. Her memory will be held dear by all who knew her.

Patti was predeceased by her husband, her daughter, Cristina O’Toole Oudekerk, her sister, Susan Lee, and her brother, Ted. She is survived by her sister, Gerryl Bucci; her children, Jim, Katie, Molly Riordan, and Ted; her daughter-in-law, Alexandra; and son-in-law, Brian. Patti’s cheerful demeanor lives on in her beloved grandchildren: Ella, Max, and Lily (Cristina), Zackary and Theodore (Katie), Cian, Guinevere, Rowan and Torin (Molly), Nellie and Emma (Ted) and her dear Boyle nieces and nephews.
