SARATOGA SPRINGS — Marian M. Welch, 92, passed away Wednesday, October 16 at Saratoga Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born on May 29, 1921 in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Mary Ann (Ferrara) Matrazzo. Marian graduated from Saratoga Springs High School Class of 1939 and continued her education, graduating from Mildred Elley in 1941.
Marian was a long time member of the Saratoga Springs Homemade Theater. She was instrumental in providing information for the play, “Catching Babies”, about her grandmother, midwife Mary Ann Ferrara.
In addition to her parents, Marian was predeceased by her husband Martin (Jack) Welch and one brother Bart Matrazzo. She is survived by her sister, Josephine Natale; two sons, Martin and Michael; three nephews, John, Phillip and Joseph Natale along with numerous cousins.
