SARATOGA SPRINGS — Jean M. (Izzo) Southern, 92, of York Avenue, passed away Friday, January 17 at Wesley Health Care Center.
Born on June 4, 1921 in Gloversville, she was the daughter of the late Anthony J. and Theresa (Muldowney) Izzo. She attended Saratoga Springs city schools and worked for several years as a chambermaid at the former Beverly on North Broadway and the Gideon Putnam Hotel. She was a member of St. Clement’s Church.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Francis J. Southern, her son-in-law, Frank Parisi; two brothers, Bernard and Thomas Izzo and her half-sister, Joan Barss.
Survivors include her children, Geraldine (Joseph) McCarty of Orlando, Florida, Francis J. (Bonnie) Southern of Saratoga Springs, Donald T. (Nancy) Southern of Winter Haven, Florida and Kathleen Parisi of Rutland, Vermont; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and her half-brother, Anthony Izzo of Ballston Spa.
