Saratoga Springs- Minna Johnson, 97, passed away on November 25, 2011, at Wesley Nursing Home.
Minna was born in NYC, the daughter of Jacob and Molly Beetman. She graduated from Brooklyn College and worked during her lifetime as a secretary for the International Ladies Garment Worker’s Union, a claims examiner for the NYS Department of Labor, and an elementary school teacher in the Kingston, NY, School System. She was a lifetime member of Hadassah – The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, and a proud member of the NYS Retired Teacher’s Association.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Johnson, and a sister, Fannie B. Fried.
Minna is survived by her two sons, Marc Johnson and Richard Johnson; sister, Mildred Davis; three grandchildren, Eric Johnson, Lauren Johnson and Lindsey (Colin) Boyle; great-grandson Oskari Johnson; nephew, Eric (Joanna) Fried; and several loving nieces.
At Minna’s request, her remains will be cremated, and buried along with the remains of her beloved husband, Paul, in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston, NY, at the convenience of the family.
