James H. and Jacqueline A. Cole O'Rourke

Saratoga Springs, NY – James H. and Jacqueline A. Cole O’Rourke passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2012, entering the Gates of Heaven together.

James was born July 28, 1927, in Saratoga Springs, the son of the late Francis J. and Helen V. Clare O’Rourke. His loving wife Jacqueline was born August 7, 1934, in Corning, NY, the daughter of the late Gerald and Edith Gorham McNeil.

James worked in the bottling plant for the Saratoga Vichy Bottling Company for 27 years, Stewart’s for four years and Maplewood Manor for 10 years. He also served in the New York State and National Guard. James loved collecting old license plates, painting cartoons and was a history buff. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, the Rev. Colin O’Rourke and one sister, Ann. M. Pemberton.

Jacqueline worked as a clerk for Stewart’s, Helprin’s-MacFinns Drug Store and Jamesway, all in Saratoga Springs. She enjoyed knitting, painting and crocheting. In addition to her parents, Jacqueline was predeceased by her husband James.

They spent all of their time together and were never apart. Whether it was enjoying lunch at Compton’s, walking to Church or enjoying downtown Broadway to sit on the benches, they loved to watch and talk to all that they would meet. They were both active communicants of the Church of St. Peter.

They are survived by James’ sister, Helen E. O’Rourke; their special friends, Tom Lucas and Laura Darcy; nephews, Frank and Stephen Pemberton; and several cousins.
