Pancake Breakfast Benefit
The American Legion Adirondack Post 70, located at 34 West Ave., Saratoga Springs will host a pancake breakfast on Saturday, September 21 from 8 - 11 a.m. to benefit the Saratoga Veterans Chorus. In addition to pancakes, menu items will include eggs, bacon, toast, orange juice and coffee. Tickets are $8 for adults, $4 for those 12 years and under and are available in advance at Post 70 or at the door. Underwriting support for the fundraiser is provided by the Adirondack Trust Company, Stewart’s Shops and Price Chopper/Market 32.
Saratoga Veterans Chorus
Both male and female veterans, active duty, guard and reserve service members are invited to enjoy the camaraderie of choral singing in a relaxed environment. No audition or public singing is required, although there will be opportunities for community performances for those interested. Instruction by a professional choral director. Free to participate. 3rd Annual Nick’s Ride to be Healed
Registration is open for the 100-mile scenic motorcycle ride to the Adirondacks on Saturday, September 21, beginning at 4 Avis Drive in Latham. Heritage Hunters of Saratoga County will meet on Saturday, September 21, at 1 p.m. at the Town of Saratoga Town Hall, corner of Rt. 4 and Rt. 29 in Schuylerville. Tina Post, certified genealogist, will present the program, “Who was the Miss that became Mrs.?” Tina has 20 years of experience in the area of family research. Jim Allen’s Famous Chicken BBQ Fundraiser
The BBQ will be held on September 22 at 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the South Glens Falls United Methodist Church, located at 15 Maplewood Parkway. Town of Malta Community Emergency Response
The Town of Malta will be presenting its Community Emergency Response Training (CERT). Class begins Tuesday, September 24. This 17-hour course will provide basic knowledge regarding a variety of emergencies. Upon successful completion of the course you will receive certification and be eligible to join CERT. If you choose not to join, it is still valuable training for you and your family. You will learn CPR, Basic First Aid, how to perform fire suppression for small fires, Search and Rescue and more. There is no fee for this course, but you must be a resident of the Town of Malta to enroll. The Gangsters of Saratoga
Join author and retired Chief of Police Greg Veitch as he presents “The Gangsters of Saratoga,” a history of gambling, crime and corruption in Saratoga Springs. Cars, Cigars & Birding in Cuba
Well-known birder and biologist Rich Guthrie will present “Cars, Cigars and Birding in Cuba” at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September. 25 at the Saratoga Springs Public Library on Henry Street. Guthrie has been presenting and teaching about birds for decades. He is a retired biologist for NYSDEC and a member of the Greene Land Trust Habitat Advisory Committee. Guthrie recently visited Cuba with Birds Caribbean, a conservation organization which focuses on habitat preservation and wildlife of the Caribbean Islands. He will offer a look at many of the bird species found in Cuba, but also a look at the people, life and vintage cars that are now a national treasure of the Cuban people. This program is sponsored by the Southern Adirondack Audubon Society.

The Ben 2019 Charity Golf Tournament
The Ben Osborn Memorial Fund is teaming up with Cyntha Supenant, Midas, and Whiteman Chevrolet to host our upcoming charity golf tournament to be held Frida, September 27 at Top of the World Golf Course in Lake George. Registration begins at 10 a.m. with an 11:30 a.m. shotgun start. Several contests including a hole-in-one shot that will win you a brand new Chevrolet. Entry fee is $125 per player with cart for 18 holes of golf including lunch at the turn and free keg beer, water and soft drinks. Guests are welcome and individuals will be paired with other players.
