Born on November 7, 1959, in Mt. Vernon, New York, Suzanne was the daughter of the late Irvin G. and Helene (Deal) Marshall. She was a proud graduate of Shenendehowa High School, Class of 1977, and went on to pursue her passion for caring for others at Albany Medical College School of Nursing. She later earned her bachelor’s degree from Empire State College, reflecting her lifelong commitment to growth and learning.

Suzanne dedicated decades of her life to the healthcare field, serving with compassion and skill, starting at Albany Medical Center Hospital. Additionally, her work spanned roles in medical sales, patient support, and clinical care, where she made a lasting impact on both colleagues and the countless patients she helped. She concluded her professional career as a clinical support specialist with Novartis.

She had a remarkable gift for conversation and connection and was able to strike up a meaningful exchange with anyone she met. Her warmth, kindness, and genuine interest in others left lasting impressions wherever she went.

Above all, Suzanne was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and Nana. Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She also held a special love for Saratoga Springs, drawn to its vibrant energy, wonderful food, and welcoming community.

Suzanne was the kind of person who showed up always ready to listen, support, and uplift those around her. She knew what she wanted in life and pursued it with strength and grace, all while keeping the well-being of others close to her heart.

She was the wife of Robert G. Ellis; mother of Nicole Messier-Marino (John Marino), and Corinne Smith (Chip Smith); grandmother of Elliot Messier, Luca Marino, Jules Marino and Scottie Smith; sister of Jeffrey S. Marshall (Rosemary Hall) and the late Durwood B. Marshall; sister-in-law of Carol Marshall.  She is also survived by many loving brothers and sisters-in-law and several dear friends.
