Grand, Gilded and Glorious: A Saratoga Stroll
Saratoga Springs Heritage Area Visitor Center, 297 Broadway, Saratoga Springs | 10:30 a.m. – Noon. A guided walking tour celebrating the rich history, glamour, and legendary stories of Saratoga Springs’ Gilded Age. Tour concludes at the Saratoga Springs History Museum inside the Canfield Casino. Free Movie – John Newton
Adirondack Christian Fellowship, 8 Mountain Ledge Dr, suite 2, Wilton | 7 p.m. Free movie based on the true story of John Newton, a slave ship captain. His incredible life transformation led him to become a major influence in the slave abolitionist movement. His deeply moving experience inspired him to write a poem that later became a song known around the world. The 1772 world-renowned song “Amazing Grace” is also the title of the featured film. Come see this uplifting film. Admission is free, but if you would like to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Wilton Food Pantry, that would be appreciated.
Concert: In This Moment
Saratoga Art Gallery, 320 Broadway, Saratoga Springs | 7:30 p.m. An unforgettable night of improvisational music inspired by poetry readings that explore autumnal transformation, moments of reflection, and the enduring strength of hope and community. Poems drawn from the works of Fenton Johnson, Walt Whitman, Sara Teasdale, and Frances Ellen Watkins Harper, evoking musical performances from tonight’s ensemble of master musicians known as “In This Moment”. Fall Art in the Park

Stories in Stone: the “Tablets” of Saratoga Battlefield
Saratoga National Historical Park Visitor Center, Rt 32, Stillwater | 1 p.m. After the Battles of Saratoga ended, it took over 100 years before any historical signs marked places related to those battles. There were farms to run, families to raise, lives to continue. But in 1883, the Saratoga Monument Association’s “Committee on Tablets” entered the scene. Committee chair, Ellen Hardin Walworth, had a clear purpose: set up a series of stone markers alongside public roads running through and between private properties that had been (and would be!) Saratoga Battlefield. What stories do they tell? Are they just battlefield history? What more might they say?
Gather for Gateway Fall Event

Historical Encounters Tours

Manhattan Short Film Festival Screening

Skier Readiness and Injury-Prevention Seminar
Saratoga Physical Therapy Associates (SPTA) will host a free community event focused on helping skiers and other winter enthusiasts prepare for the upcoming season. Saturday, October 3 from 10 a.m. – Noon at 5 Care Lane, Saratoga Springs. Physical therapists will discuss common skiing-related injuries, preseason conditioning, and practical strategies for improving performance and reducing injury risk. Attendees will take part in individualized screenings. The seminar is appropriate for recreational skiers, experienced athletes, and individuals returning to skiing after an injury or an extended period away from sport.
