The track was opened to horses and trainers 19 days before the first day of the season is set to begin. 2013 will include 53 listed and graded stakes races worth $14.95 million and a Grade 1, $1 million Travers on August 24.
2012 Horse of the Year Wise Dan and Breeders’ Cup classic winner Fort Larned will be among the horses in town for the summer. Fort Larned will be one highlight of the season with the attempt to be the first horse to take back-to-back wins in the Grade 1 $750,000 Whitney Ivitation Handicap since Dicovery (1934–36). That race is August 3.
