Jacob Kenneth Barton
SCHUYLERVILLE — Jacob Kenneth Barton was the first born child to Brian and Lisa Barton on February 10, 1997. Jacob was welcomed into eternal life by God’s loving arms on May 31, 2016.
As a young child, Jacob loved exploring, reading, camping, and collecting things like rocks, Pez dispensers, and unique hats. Jacob loved spending time with his cousins, especially Ryan and Tyler, with whom he spent every summer wearing capes and making memories. As he grew older, he loved the sport of lacrosse and was a goalie since second grade. He also loved traveling, riding his 4-wheeler, and swimming. Jacob spent countless hours entertaining his family with his talented diving skills and tricks. Jacob had a love of learning and was innately curious.
Above all, Jacob’s happiest times were spent with his Dad, Mom, sisters, brother, and relatives.
Jacob will be greatly missed for the way he cared strongly, loved deeply, his hugs, and for his confidence and individuality including wearing his footsie pajamas until he was 19. He was the kind of young man that anyone would be proud to call son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend.
Jacob is survived by his loving parents, Brian and Lisa; his siblings Claire, Eliza, and Charles; great-grandmother, Carolyn Barton of Ancramdale, NY; paternal grandfather, Kenneth Barton of San Antonio, Florida, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
With Jacob’s passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated and life is to be LIVED each day. Although we will miss him every day, especially his love and smile, he will forever remain in our hearts.
Calling hours were held on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Flynn Brothers Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Avenue in Schuylerville.
A Mass of a Christian Burial was held at Notre Dame-Visitation Church in Schuylerville on Monday, June 6, 2016 with the Rev. Martin Fisher officiating. Burial followed at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
