Donna Lee (Bunnell) VanWagner

SARATOGA SPRINGS – Donna Lee (Bunnell) VanWagner, 74, returned to her heavenly home on Sept 13, 2016. She was surrounded by her loving family after a long courageous battle with cancer. Donna will forever be remembered for the love and compassion she showed everyone she came into contact with. Donna’s fondest memories are those shared with family and friends. She loved the outdoors and spending time at Camp Ponderosa. Donna was always smiling and spreading her contagious laugh with those around her. Donna's most favorite thing was to spread her love for the Lord to all she knew, allowing them to know Him as she did. Donna is survived by the love of her life, George VanWagner. They married Aug. 25, 1962 and together they raised their daughter and Donna’s best friend Beth (Sonny) Hernandez. She was the grandmother of Katie (Tom) Irish, Chad (Sarah) White, Tiffany (Sam) Sloan and Jessica Johnson. She was an amazing great-grandma to Dustin White, Jenna Irish, Bethany Sloan, Jeff Irish, Justice Sloan, Kayla White, Cadencia White and Lilly Spicer. She shared an unbreakable bond with them all. Aside from this she was also a "mom" to the Saratoga girls who all loved her dearly. She is the sister of Michael (Crystal) Bunnell and Yvette (Jack) Green. She is the sister-in-law to Lois VanWagner and Jane (Walter) Marchewka. She had many nieces and nephews. Donna was also an amazing mom to her fur baby shadow (Sheldon) the cat. Donna is predeceased by her mom Beth Bunnell, father Fred Bunnell, her brother Fred (Butch) Bunnell, sister Sharon Wardell, brother-in-law Lyle VanWagner, William VanWagner and mother-in-law Florence VanWagner. The family would like to say a special thank you to Saratoga Oncology and Georgie Bodle of the transfusion center who was a great friend and gave Donna the best care possible. Also thank you to Pastor Jim and Pastor Glenn for their love and support. A memorial will be held Saturday, Sept 24, at 11 a.m. at Saratoga Abundant Life Church, 2325 NY-50, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Team Haiti 4 Jesus, PO Box 21, Galway, NY 12074. A Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Please carry on Donnas Legacy by blessing all you come in contact with.
