Linda “Lin” Ann True

SARATOGA SPRINGS – Linda “Lin” Ann True, 61, passed away peacefully at her home in Saratoga Springs on Wednesday, September 21, 2016. Born in Stoneham, Mass, Lin grew up in Lee, NH with her parents, Barbara and Carl True; brother, Chuck True and sister, Margie True. She graduated from Oyster River High School in 1973. In 1994 she graduated Cum Laude with a BA from New England College. She is survived by her only daughter, Tara Claflin Graves, of Saratoga Springs. Lin raised Tara to follow her dreams, be strong and independent. She also taught her to be silly, sarcastic and confident. She always said, “Dance like there’s nobody watching, love like you’ll never be hurt, sing like there’s nobody listening.”  She worked for many years as a seamstress for Cleary Cleaners in Newington, NH. Accomplishments include personal sewing for Joe Perry (Aerosmith); making wedding, bridesmaids’ and prom gowns and Halloween costumes for her clients, friends and family. In 2013, she relocated to Saratoga Springs to enjoy time with Tara, son-in-law Jason Graves and two grandsons, Nathan and Alec. With a renewed excitement for life, Lin spent every moment with her grandchildren and talked about them constantly. In 1974 she married Royce H. Claflin, Jr.; while the marriage did not last, the friendship grew over time. She is survived by those mentioned as well as beloved Aunt Sylvia Getchell (Lee), Aunt Katherine and Uncle Robert Dowaliby (Dover) and nieces Nicole True (Dover), Alexandra Locke (Dover), nephew John True (Brooklyn) and their respective families. Lin dedicated her life to showing kindness to others and enjoyed spending time with loved ones. Lin will be remembered for her warm heart, generous nature and witty sense of humor. Celebration of Life – Sunday, Oct. 2, from 3 to 7 p.m. at The Falls Grill and Tavern, Dover, NH. Informal burial will be on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m. at Haven Hill Cemetery in Rochester, NH.
