Thomas Taylor

GLENS FALLS – Thomas Taylor, age 52, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 20, 1964 in Niskayuna, the son of Herbert and Sandra Hatala Taylor. Thomas attended Galway Central School and was a 1982 graduate. He enjoyed and played sports in school. Upon graduating he continued his education and attended Schenectady Community College earning an associate’s degree in Culinary Arts. He then enlisted in the US Army and served from 1986 to 1988. Thomas was a cook at The Glen at Hiland Meadows in Queensbury. He enjoyed spending time with his friend Lori. Enjoyed watching sports, football, and exploring the outdoors. Thomas had a special love for cooking, the Miami Dolphins, and the Louisville football and basketball games. Thomas lived life to the fullest and made an impact on all those who met him. He will be remembered for his wonderful yet crazy sense of humor that brought laughter to the people around him, especially his boss Chef Brownie and close friend Rob Freed, they meant the world to him. Tom enjoyed all the time he spent with coworkers and friends at the Glen. Thomas is survived by his parents, Herbert and Sandra Taylor, his children, Eryn Taylor (Ed Gonzalez), Aiden and Dylan Taylor, and his grandchildren, Connor, Kole, and Bradley. He is preceded in death by his brother; James Taylor, and grandparents, Mike and Jane Hatala. Calling hours were held on Monday, September 26, 2016, followed by a service at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. in Saratoga Springs. Interment was held on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, with military honors, at the Gerald B. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road in Schuylerville. Investigation into the matter led to the arrest of Julia H.
