GANSEVOORT – Sarah Denio, 40, recently announced the launch of her new business, KindNest Pregnancy Empowerment.

According to a statement provided by Kate Austin-Avon at Advokate LLC in Glens Falls, KindNest’s mission is to support and empower women who are trying to conceive; who are working through pregnancy loss; or who are pregnant. KindNest provides a welcoming community where women can learn, grieve, heal, renew, nurture and celebrate.

While KindNest works to secure a physical location in the Capital District, a Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign is currently underway that ends on Monday, April 30.

“Funds raised here will be utilized to get KindNest off the ground and to help sustain the business throughout the initial growing pains,” Denio says. “This includes everything from the physical location to supplies and equipment to marketing and technology, so we can focus on the real work of fostering healing and empowerment in the community. We are unique in that we offer these resources in a centralized location, filling a void by supporting all phases on the journey to parenthood. There's nothing like it in the area—or anywhere, really.”

The campaign can be found at www.kickstarter.com/projects/sarahdenio/kindnest-pregnancy-empowerment. So far, more than $3,000 has been raised toward a goal of $10,000. KindNest must reach this goal by April 30 in order to receive the funds raised.

In addition to helping clients locate high-quality pregnancy and fertility-related services provided by practitioners and instructors who specialize in those areas, KindNest's services include education and workshops in yoga, breastfeeding and nutrition, as well as integrative health services such as acupuncture, reiki, and meditation.

KindNest also will offer social events, pregnancy loss support, and connections to local resources.

KindNest was born from Denio’s own pregnancy journey. “Over the last few years, through the loss of several pregnancies, I learned firsthand the power of healing and self-empowerment following pregnancy-related challenges,” she says. “Now the mother to two healthy daughters, I am prepared to help others on their journey. I am seeking support in getting this business off the ground.”
