Artist Jam

Held The second Friday of each month. Artist Jam is a social event for teen and adult artists in the community to get together and enjoy a relaxing workspace. Whether you’re looking to meet fellow creators or need an excuse to finish your latest project, this is the place for you! Please bring your own art supplies and a project to do. All forms of artistic media are welcome. This is a no-judgement zone, so no prior artistic experience is required to participate. At times, an art teacher will be in attendance to give guidance, if desired. Registration is requested, but not required, at 518-882-6385. 

Fish Fry Friday ?

Fish Creek Rod and Gun Club, 123 State Route 32, Schuylerville 

4 – 7 p.m.  | Every Friday through March 29. Menu: All dinners are served with coleslaw and sauce also your choice of fries or onion rings: fish fry, chicken tenders, clam strips, popcorn shrimp, coconut shrimp w/special dipping sauce, buffalo shrimp. Extras: all previous items plus jalapeno poppers, mozzarella sticks, fried mushrooms, bowl of chowder or quart of chowder, red (Manhattan) or white (New England). Beverages are available. Finding Nemo Jr. ?

Ballston Spa Middle School Auditorium, 210 Ballston Ave., Ballston Spa | 7 p.m. Launching Pad Productions, the Ballston Spa Middle School Drama Club, will present Finding Nemo Jr. Featuring over 70 students in the cast and 50 more working behind the scenes, this is a show you won’t want your family to miss. Featuring memorable songs such as “Just Keep Swimming,” “Fish Are Friends Not Food,” and “Go With the Flow,” Finding Nemo Jr. brings a vibrant underwater world to life on stage in a story full of family, friendship, and adventure. Additional performances: Saturday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. Matinees on Feb. 10 and 11 at 1 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for Senior Citizens and students and may be purchased at the door before each performance (tickets will go on sale one hour before each performance).

Diggory Open Studio 

173 Circular Street, Saratoga Springs | 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. 

As Anne Diggory’s exhibition at Spring Street Gallery ends she will open her studio to the public. The Open Studio includes work connected to the exhibition as well as a large group of paintings on sale from her travels and the first 30 years of her long career, including paintings from the 80’s at the Saratoga Race and Harness Track and Saratoga Performing Arts Center. Her show of 40 works, “Near and Far,” recent paintings of the Adirondacks and Southern France can be viewed at Spring Street Gallery, 110 Spring Street, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday or by appointment. 25th Annual Saratoga Chowderfest ?

Various Locations Downtown Saratoga Springs | 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. 

Saratoga’s Annual Chowderfest is one of the area’s most highly anticipated events of the year. Family-friendly, fun and utterly delicious, Chowderfest features more than 80 vendors—including Saratoga County’s best restaurants and caterers—who open their doors to the public and serve 4 oz. samples of chowder for $2 to event goers.

Annual Soup Supper ?

Old Saratoga Reformed Church, 48 Pearl St., Schuylerville | 4 – 6 p.m. The cost is $12 for adults and $8 for kids under 12, and includes soup, green salad, and dessert. You can try as many soups as you would like, so try to arrive as early as possible to ensure the widest selection! Dine-in only, walk-ins welcome. The church is handicapped friendly. All are welcome! Annual Sweetheart Dance

Saratoga–Wilton Elks Lodge, 1 Elk Lane, Saratoga Springs

6 p.m. | GRAVITY will be our entertainment for the night. Cocktails from 6-7 p.m., dinner 7 p.m., and entertainment from 9-midnight. Basket Raffles (including a Lottery Basket) will benefit the Foreverly House (Veterans Community Housing Coalition Home for Female Veterans with Children). Entree choices: Prime Rib, Salmon, and Spinach Lasagna, served with roasted potatoes, tossed salad, roll, and veggies, dessert. Cost is $45/per person. Nature on the Move Winter

Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Parks Trails, 80 Scout Rd., Wilton | 10:30 a.m. – Noon

Come enjoy nature with others looking to get outside. This walk is geared towards gentle exercise and those with basic fitness levels. This program is suitable for ages 16 and up. Improv Spaces “Open Office Hours”

5 – 7 p.m. | A weekly Tuesday evening program with musicians and artists in improvisation and interdisciplinary improvisation including music, performance, poetry, and visual arts. Are you a composer with a framework for improvisation that you want to test? Do you want to meet collaborators for a piece or band? Do you want to explore interdisciplinary practice or something new? A Night at the Aldridge House

6 p.m. | Opening in 1792, the building that now houses Brookside Museum was a hotel that hosted guests to Ballston Spa for over 50 years. Brookside Museum is hosting an immersive evening of food, music, and stories. Ticket holders will enjoy a night of hearty stew, crusty bread, refreshing cider, and jaunty music. Introduction to Basic Drawing

  • Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office  The Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic incident call on Manchester Drive in the town of Halfmoon on April 21. Investigation into the matter led to the arrest of Julia H. Kim (age 33) of Halfmoon, who was charged with assault in the 2nd degree (class D felony) and criminal possession of a weapon in the 4th degree (class A misdemeanor).
