SARATOGA — On May 13 construction began on the Saratoga Surrender Site Project; one of American’s most iconic and important historic sites. Located a half mile below the Village of Schuylerville on NYS Route 4, this new park will feature a memorial wall with a large bronze bias relief of the famous image “The Surrender of Burgoyne at Saratoga” and other features.
The Friends of Saratoga Battlefield, a non-profit 501C-3 educational organization, is working with several partners to make public access to this historic site a reality, worthy of those veterans who died and suffered for the freedoms we enjoy today. The Friends of Saratoga Battlefield, in partnership with Open Space Institute, the Hudson-Hoosic Partnership and Saratoga National Historical Park are making this memorial park a reality.
