ALBANY - The NYS Writers Institute and the UAlbany Performing Arts Center, both based at the University at Albany, have announced the actors who will participate in Selected Shorts.
The hit public radio and podcast series featuring readings of classic and new works of short fiction by acclaimed actors, will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, at the UAlbany Performing Arts Center on the uptown University at Albany campus, located at 1400 Washington Ave.
In honor of their 35th anniversary, Selected Shorts commissioned 35 stories by literary luminaries. The UAlbany performance will feature a special selection of brand-new work by Carmen Maria Machado, Jess Walter, Lauren Groff and more. Actors Patricia Kalember (The Tick), Sonia Manzano (Sesame Street) and Bhavesh Patel (The Good Wife) bring to life stories of revenge-seeking children, parties in the face of apocalypse and finding love on the side of a building.
Advance tickets are $15 for the general public and $10 for students, seniors and UAlbany faculty-staff.
