Talk about one exercise that makes for a total body experience, this is it. On the one side, you are holding an a challenging plank position, kind of like a wide-stance downward dog. Then you allow yourself to move forward, as if you were going to faceplant into the ground…but just before your nose touches the floor, you scoop your chin forward, tilting the head back and continue to push off the floor to extend your chest and anterior towards the ceiling, providing a deep stretch the abdominal region. Once you have maxed out with your upward dog, you reverse the motion and trace your steps back to the beginning position. This is great for building upper body strength and blasting the core section of the body. Be mindful: though this exercise can be performed by just about anyone, I recommend light stretching before any physical exercise and/or consulting your doctor before attempting any physical fitness activity. There are so many variations of the pushup. Pick a few and practice them on a daily or weekly basis. Create a Push Up Club or Push Up challenge at the workplace and watch your own personal job performance increase dramatically.

Train your whole being, not just your muscles.

Since childhood, David Wolfe was engaged with various sports such as baseball, basketball, football, hockey, soccer, tennis, volleyball and track and field. Competitors were most of the time taller or bigger compared to his small body frame, so the David and Goliath storyline was a consistent theme he revisited in sports.

In high school, he wrestled and attended Dan Gable’s Wrestling Camp in Iowa. There he learned how the body could be conditioned with great strength and agility by tapping into the mental capacities of the mind. After getting certified in fitness and nutrition and graduating from SUNY New Paltz with a B.A. and Masters in Professional Studies in Humanistic/Multicultural Education, David saw the need to pass along to others what he has learned about the mind-body relationship. For over fifteen years he has helped a diverse population of individuals and groups work towards optimal health at a number of different fitness facilities and has designed unique boot camp classes as well as tailored one-on-one fitness and wellness programs.

Now 35 years old, with extensive knowledge of training styles and approaches in his training tool belt, David hopes to continue helping all people achieve optimal health in a meaningful way.
