Holiday Craft Sale 

St. Michaels Church, 80 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls | 3 – 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a wonderful Holiday Craft Show.  There will be over 50 crafters, raffle baskets, a bake sale and cafe.  Santa Clause is also going to be there for the children to visit. 250th Anniversary of the Marine Corps

The Factory Village Cemetery, 5 Berkshire Dr, Ballston Spa | 11 a.m. Marine Corps League Detachment 641 Spa and the Town of Milton’s 250th Revolutionary War Committee invite you to a ceremony honoring Captain Stephen Earle, who served on the U.S. Frigate Providence. This is a local celebration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the Marine Corps.

Pumpkin Smash! with Community Compost

Pitney Meadows Community Farm, 223 West Ave., Saratoga Springs | 2 – 4 p.m. Let’s turn your pumpkins into something good! Join us for Pumpkin Smash — recycle your seasonal pumpkins and gourds with our Community Compost program’s vertical drum system. Bring your pumpkins, smash ‘em, and help divert food waste from the landfill.

Antique Fishing Expo

Holiday Inn, 232 Broadway, Saratoga Springs | 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. A great way to see interesting displays, meet fellow collectors, and learn about fishing tackle history.  A wide variety of fishing tackle and angling history is represented in the collections of NFLCC members. $10 Admission, Veterans and kids 16 and under are Free. This is the largest fishing show in the Northeast. Items include: Vintage Fishing Lures, Rods, Reels, Bobbers, Decoys, Files, Signs, Ephemera and more.

Monthly Indoor Craft and Garage Sale

Saratoga Wilton Elks Lodge, 1 Elk Lane, Saratoga Springs | 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Admission is free. Over 40 vendors; great parking, bargains galore. Lunch is available. Just about anything you can imagine might be offered: lightly used children’s toys and lots of Christmas craft items. The Rise and Fall of Victory Mill

Village of Victory Hall, 23 Pine Street, Victory Mills | 7 p.m. The Saratoga County History Center and the Village of Victory invite the public to a special presentation by Skidmore College student Nicholas Sisto on “The Company and its Town: Textile Production in Victory Mills and the Community Built Around It.” Sisto’s presentation explores how industry shaped both the economy and identity of this small mill community along Fish Creek. The talk offers a window into the social, economic, and environmental forces that defined 19th- and 20th-century life in upstate New York. The program is free and open to the public.

 Encounter Point Film Panel Discussion

Zoom Presentation, 7 p.m. Encounter Point – Reverberations from the Israeli-Palestinian conflict are felt worldwide. Learn more about the club’s projects and activities. The club is an active and thriving group known for its positive, community-minded members. Saratoga in the Gilded Age

Brookside Museum, 21 Fairground Ave Ballston Spa | 7 – 8:30 p.m. During the Gilded Age Saratoga Springs, the Queen of America’s Spas, was a major thread in the social fabric of America. The obvious question is in an era before instant communication what was life like here? That question is for both those who were seasonal guests of the village and equally important, those who were year-round residents. Noted local author Hollis Palmer, will explore what it must have been like to spend the “season” or even a day at the spas. There will be special pricing on all six of Hollis’ books about Saratoga.

Galway Preservation Society Monthly Meeting

Galway Town Hall, 5910 Sacandaga Road, Galway | Doors open at 6:45, followed by our monthly program at 7:00. This month’s program will be on Dr. Elizabeth Gilette, presented by Michael Diana, Director of Education and Historian of the Schenectady County Historical Society.  At the turn of the 20th Century, Elizabeth Gilette moved to Schenectady.  At that time, she was only the second woman to practice medicine in the small American city.  Over the course of her long career, Gilette would defy not just the profession but the political boundaries of her gender.  The presentation details her many accomplishments and remarkable personality.  Open to the public, free of charge.

Simpson UMC’s Trunk or Treat Halloween Celebration

Simpson United Methodist Church, located at 1089 Rock City Road, Rock City Falls, is having a Trunk or Treat Halloween celebration on Saturday, October 25 from 1 – 3 p.m.  We’d love to fill the parking lot with as many participating vehicles as possible.  All you need to do is decorate your vehicle and be ready to hand out candy to all the ghouls, ghosts, goblins and fairy princesses who come Trick-or-Treating.  Hope to see you on 10/25 (costumes optional)!

Halloween Murder Mystery

 Come support Operation Adopt A Soldier at their annual Halloween murder mystery with the Adirondack Flatline players as they present “Unhappy Homecoming-Rescue from Mulligan’s Island” on Saturday October 25 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion on 34 West Street in Saratoga. Dress in your Halloween costume for judging. Enjoy a ziti meatball dinner with salad, rolls and dessert as well as a basket raffle and a 50/50.  Cash bar will be available. Ghosts of Saratoga Trolley Tour

Greenfield Fall Festival 

October 25 at Brookhaven Golf Course, 333 Alpine Meadows Rd., Porter Corners. The free event includes an Oktoberfest 5K Fundraiser to help support Brookhaven Winter Park, at 10 a.m. (register at skireg.com)  followed by a full afternoon including trick or treating, Giant Pumpkin Contest and more. Greenridge Cemetery Tours

Halloween Party

The Children’s Museum of Saratoga, 65 S. Broadway, Saratoga Springs.  Join us for a spooktacular afternoon on Sunday, October 26 from 1 – 4 p.m. Our Halloween party is packed with face painting, festive fun, hands-on activities, and plenty of playful surprises woven into our regular hours. 8th Annual Veterans Memorial Ceremony

Autumn Stroll – Historic West Side

Historically, the West Side was home to the African American and immigrant communities in the city. What Was and What Is 

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School, 88 Lakehill Rd., Burnt Hills | 6:30 p.m. The premier showing of a documentary video, “What Was and What Is: The Communities of Burnt Hills and Ballston Lake and their School District, 1938-1940 and 2025” is based partly on newly-discovered 16 MM film from the years 1938-40 in the communities of Burnt Hills and Ballston Lake and their school district.  That original 1938-40 footage, edited and annotated, is followed by some of the same scenes in the year 2025. A must-see for anyone who loves to see how community and school life have changed over time.  The video documentary was produced and directed by Ballston Town Historian and former BHBL teacher Rick Reynolds with videographer and editor Dave Waite from Galway.

Haunted Saratoga Ghost Tours

Victory Season at Saratoga: Siege Living History Weekend

Fort Hardy Park & Champlain Canal Region Gateway Visitors Center, 30 Ferry St., Schuylerville | 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Presented by Saratoga 250 Saturday and Sunday. Fort Hardy Park will host encampments on the original 1777 “Field of Grounded Arms” where British Regulars grounded their weapons upon surrender to the Americans. All camps are free to visit and open to the public during the dates and times listed above. Soldiers will fire cannons and muskets throughout the event and perform other martial activities, while they and the camp’s followers will cook food and sew clothing throughout the event. Make sure to ask the reenactors lots of questions!

Oktoberfest Event

The Clifton Park Elks Hoop Shoot Contest

Impact Athletic Center, 390 NY-146, Halfmoon | 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. The national free throw shooting contest for children ages 8 through 13. There is no charge to compete. Hudson View Cemetery, South Street, Mechanicville | 1 – 2:30 p.m. Due to popular demand, local history buffs Tom Salvadore and Bob Murphy will lead a second walk through the historic cemetery, made even more beautiful by the fall colors. Beginning at the gravesite of Civil War hero Elmer Elsworth, they will tell stories of community leaders in the glory days of the city during the industrial age.  Parking is available through the entrance to the cemetery on South Street. The Astronomy Club

Haunted Saratoga Ghost Tours

Come walk with us and hear the stories of Haunted Saratoga. Hear the stories that have lived on in our city for hundreds of years. They will enchant, entertain, and perhaps even scare you. Our 90-minute long walking tour will take you in search of the countless ghosts rumored to haunt the city. Total walking distance is less than a mile, covered at a very leisurely pace so that you can enjoy Saratoga’s many infamous ghosts and haunted locations. The tour covers parts of Congress Park and downtown Saratoga Springs. Specific meeting instructions will be sent by email when the tours are booked. Friday and Saturday through October. Saratoga Regional YMCA, 290 West Ave., Saratoga Springs | 1 – 3 p.m. Get dressed up in your Halloween best and come enjoy some family fun at our 7th Annual Trunk or Treat family event. Members of the community, businesses, YMCA staff along with local police and fire will decorate their cars for a safe and accessible trick or treat experience for everyone. Free & open to the public! Simpson UMC’s Trunk or Treat Halloween Celebration
