COURT

Natalie S. Andersen, 50, of Gansevoort, pleaded July 22 to felony DWI in connection with an incident in Saratoga Springs. Sentencing Sept. 30. 

Devon M. Ostrander, 26, of Milton, was sentenced to 3 years in prison for strangulation in the second-degree, and 1.5 to 3 years prison for criminal contempt in the first-degree. 

Jesse A. Kelton, 45, of Pittsburg, California, pleaded July 21 to felony DWI in connection with an incident in Malta. Sentencing Sept. 9. 

Joshua C. French, 37, of Wilton, was sentenced July 21 to 1 to 3 years in state prison after pleading to felony DWI. 

Courtney L. Curley, 21, of Ballston, pleaded July 21 to felony DWI. Sentencing Sept. 21.

James L. Salvo, 40, of Schenectady, was sentenced July 21 to 2 to 4 years in state prison after pleading to felony grand larceny in connection with an incident in Clifton Park. 

John C. Heidrich was found guilty by jury in Saratoga County Court on July 21 of 16 charges related to a sexual and physical assault that occurred over a five-day-span in the town of Halfmoon, according to a statement released by Saratoga County District Attorney Karen Heggen. The jury found Heidrich guilty of multiple kidnapping and sexual abuse charges and he faces a potential maximum sentence of 25 years when sentenced in late September. The victim was a 57-year-old woman from the Boston, Massachusetts area whom Heidrich had met through a phone dating service, Heggen said, and whom Heidrich sexually and physically assaulted while forcibly confining her at his home. Sentencing is Sept. 29. 

POLICE

Heather Ippolito, 28, of Waterford, was charged July 17 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, and failure to keep right. 

Antonio Mucci, 25, of Ballston Lake, was charged July 17 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, speeding, and failure to keep right, two counts criminal possession of a controlled substance, and refusal to take a breath test. 

Nelson Mangino, 26, of Saratoga Springs, was charged July 17 with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and speeding. 

Semaj Godfrey, 19, of Poughkeepsie, was charged July 16 in Saratoga Springs with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. 

Laurie Fosina, 57, of Saratoga Springs, was charged July 15 with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, motor vehicle registration suspended, and operating a motor vehicle without inspection certificate.

Kevin Reed, 33, of Mechanicville, was charged July 16 in Saratoga Springs with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and operating without insurance, inspection certificate, and registration suspended. 

Felipe Arenas-Fuentes, 25, of Floral Park, was charged July 18 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, failure to keep right, operating unregistered vehicle.

Faber Kelly, 41, of Port Henry, was charged July 18 in Saratoga Springs with criminal trespass as a misdemeanor. 

Nicole Rose, 43, of Saratoga Springs, was charged July 17 with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Betty Daniels, 37, of Saratoga Springs, was charged July 18 with petit larceny misdemeanor.

Devlin Dizacomo, 31, of Albany, was charged July 16 in Saratoga Springs with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to stop at a stop sign. 

Daniel Perodeau, 28, of Saratoga, was charged July 13 with resisting arrest, petit larceny, and criminal contempt. All three charges are misdemeanors. 

Jacob Smith, 25, of Saratoga Springs, was charged July 14 with two counts criminal mischief, criminal possession of stolen property, assault – all misdemeanors, and felony grand larceny. 

Kevin Kelly, 41, of Saratoga Springs, was charged July 14 with exposure, criminal tampering, and harassment. 

Shawn Witbeck, 50, of Saratoga Springs, was charged July 15 with assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, and criminal mischief – all misdemeanors. 

William Sanigular, 28, of Clifton Park, was charged July 16 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, and following too closely. 

Scott Seymour, 46, of Saratoga, was charged July 12 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, aggravated DWI, and three driving-related violations. 

Jamaine Myers, 43, of Troy, was charged July 10 in Saratoga Springs with operating a motor vehicle with suspended registration, without a vehicle inspection certificate, and with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. 

COURT

Steven E. Willetts, of Waterford, pleaded guilty July 14 to course of sexual conduct against a child in the first-degree, in connection with multiple incidents that involved a child under the age of 13, for a period of more than two years. Sentencing scheduled for Sept. 16. 

James A. Duffy, of Johnstown, was sentenced July 14 in Saratoga County Court to 18 years-to-life, after pleading guilty to murder in the second-degree, in connection with the death of Allyzibeth Lamont. Duffy previously admitted to acting in concert with co-defendant Giorgios N. Kakavelos on Oct. 28, 2019 in actions resulting in the death of Lamont, who was 22. Kakavelos is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 19 and faces a maximum sentence of life without parole.    

Daniel L. Jones, 43, of Saratoga Springs, was sentenced July 14 to 3.5 years in jail and 2 years post-release supervision, after pleading to attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance, in Wilton. 

POLICE

Tyaisha Tulloch, 22, of Ballston Spa, was charged July 10 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, aggravated DWI, and an equipment violation. 

Louis Brown, 24, of Troy, was charged July 10 in Saratoga Springs with criminal mischief, and criminal possession of a controlled substance

Crystal Bears, 28, of Schenectady, was charged July 10 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, refusal to take a breath test, obstruct governmental administration, resisting arrest, and moved from lane unsafely. 

Daniel Green, 25, of Catskill, was charged July 10 in Saratoga Springs with criminal possession of a weapon/loaded firearm – a felony, and disorderly conduct. 

Michelle Maffetone, 36, of Schenectady, was charged July 10 in Saratoga Springs with two felony counts criminal possession of a controlled substance. 

Jason Carter, 20, of Schenectady, was charged July 10 in Saratoga Springs with criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor. 

Gary Robertson, 35, of Gloverville, was charged July 11 in Saratoga Springs with making a terroristic threat, and disorderly conduct.

Eddie Plerqui, 22, of Troy, was charged July 11 in Saratoga Springs with circumvent interlock misdemeanor, disorderly conduct, and two driving violations. 

Daniel Ovland, 27, of Saratoga Springs, was charged July 11 with two counts criminal mischief. 

Johntay Jones, 32, of Saratoga Springs, was charged July 11 with harassment, menacing, false impersonation, and criminal possession of a controlled substance. 

Five people were charged following a Saratoga Black Lives Matter protest on July 14. The protest commenced in Congress Park and moved its way around the downtown area. “Police first requested the group, which consisted of 60 or so people, to move out of the roadways. The request was repeated a few times, but was not accepted by the group. Police actions then took place to open up the roadways and this resulted in the arrests of five people,” city police said, in a statement.  Adam Walker, age 32, Albany, Arlo P. Zwicker, age 18, Saratoga Springs, Anthony Brown-Davis, age 32, Albany, and Michael D. Janidlo, age 36, Clifton Park, were each charged with disorderly conduct, a violation. Derek C. VanDermark, age 46, Ballston Spa, was charged with disorderly conduct, a violation, and obstructing governmental administration in the second-degree, a misdemeanor. 

On July 12, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit charged Thomas J. Dingmon, 30, of Saratoga Springs, after a lengthy investigation into drug trafficking in Saratoga County. Dingmon was located on an active NYS parole warrant by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit in the Town of Galway and was allegedly found to be in possession of over 250 bags of heroin, significant quantities of cocaine, crack cocaine and methamphetamine, as well as an electric stun gun, and a large amount of US Currency, according to the sheriff’s office. Dingmon was sent to Saratoga County Jail without bail to await further proceedings. Charges: six felony counts criminal possession of a controlled substance, and one felony count criminal possession of a weapon. 

Jonah T. Figueras, 25, of Wilton, was charged July 15 with felony burglary, and felony criminal mischief. The alleged incidents occurred at the Pyramid Pines mobile home park, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s office. 

Demetrick M. Rawlins, 24, of Hudson Falls, was charged July 9 with felony burglary, in connection with an alleged incident in Northumberland. Rawlins is accused of remaining unlawfully in the dwelling of another person, and stealing firearms and a motorcycle. He was sent to Saratoga County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail, or $10,000 bond. 

Conrad M. Howard, Jr., 28, of Brooklyn, NY, pleaded July 9 to criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third-degree, in connection with an incident in Wilton. 

Jeremy J. Cramer, 21, of Stockport, pleaded July 9 to sexual abuse in the first-degree, and two counts patronizing a prostitute one felony and one misdemeanor, in connection with an incident in Halfmoon. Sentencing scheduled Sept. 10. 

Jared S. Terry, 33, of Mechanicville, was sentenced July 9 to 1 year in state prison and 1 year post-release supervision, after being charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third-degree, in connection with an incident in Clifton Park in 2019. 

Damani A. Went, 22, of Glenville, was charged July 6 with two felony counts criminal sale of a controlled substance, and three felony counts and one misdemeanor count criminal possession of a controlled substance. Went is accused of distributing crack cocaine and heroin throughout the county, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s office.

Francesco E. Bianco, 26, of Gloversville, was charged July 1 with rape in the first-degree, assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, and criminal mischief, in connection with an incident in Halfmoon on June 29. Bianco is accused of attacking and raping a female victim, and preventing her from calling 911 by taking her cell phone. The alleged incident took place in the victim’s home after meeting on a dating app, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s office.  He is being held in Saratoga County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. 

Laura Servidone, 47, of Dallas, TX, was charged July 6 in Saratoga Springs with resisting arrest, and as a fugitive from other state on warrant for extradition. Servidone was wanted in Clark County, AR. 

Kevin Kelly, 30, of Saratoga Springs, was charged July 6 with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, and operating without an inspection certificate.

Nathaniel Espinal, 24, of Ballston Spa, was charged July 7 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. 

Phillip Hatfield, 29, of Ballston Spa, was charged July 2 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, misdemeanor aggravated DWI, and speeding. 

Clayton Callan, 34, of Ballston Spa, was charged July 2 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, refusal to take a breath test, failure to keep right, and speeding. 

Carl Skogsberg, 25, of Queensbury, was charged July 2 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, and three driving/vehicle related violations. 

Raven Hazard, 26, of Ballston Lake, was charged July 3 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, misdemeanor aggravated DWI, and unsafely backing of a vehicle. 

Nicholas Martinek-Cary, 23, of Stillwater, was charged July 3 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, and two driving-related violations. 

Dylan Calabrese, 23, of Fort Edward, was charged July 4 in Saratoga Springs with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, speeding, and moving from lane unsafely. 

Christian Castellanos-Rodriguez, 26, of Elmont, was charged June 27 in Saratoga Springs with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct.

Katie Hayden, 21, of Hadley, was charged June 28 in Saratoga Springs with criminal possession of a controlled substance, and criminal use drug paraphernalia. 

Thomas McCall, 32, of Saratoga Springs, was charged June 28 with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and a driving violation. 

Edward Carroll, 23, of Clifton Park, was charged June 28 with misdemeanor DWI, and speeding, following a property damage accident on Duplainville Road.

Daniel Carrasquillo, 36, of Scranton, PA, was charged June 30 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, and failure to stop at a stop sign. 

Danielle Shea, 49, of Ballston Spa, was charged June 30 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, and refusal to take a breath test.

Daniel Perodeau, 28, of Saratoga Springs, was charged July 1 with criminal mischief, and criminal contempt. 

Michael Goodwin, 34, of Saratoga Springs, was charged June 30 with criminal contempt/ violate order of protection as a felony, criminal mischief/ disable equipment to prevent emergency assistance, a misdemeanor, and two vehicle related violations. 

Kahlil Covell, 46, of Saratoga Springs, was charged July 9 with assault, and criminal obstruction of breathing.

Justin D. Allen, 33, of Schenectady, was sentenced June 29 to 3.5 years incarceration, and 2 years post-release supervision, after pleading to criminal possession of a controlled substance, in connection with an incident in Wilton. 

Destiny Ozani Matari Ramirez, 24, of Albany, was sentenced to 5 years of probation, after pleading to attempted burglary in the second-degree, in connection with an incident in Galway. 

Martin P. Heeney, 58, of Ballston Spa, was sentenced June 30 to 5 years of probation, after pleading to criminal possession of a weapon in the third-degree. 

Victor Casado, 29, of Saratoga Springs, was sentenced June 28 to serve 1 to 3 years incarceration, after pleading to criminal possession of a weapon in the third-degree. 

Samuel Tyrel, 22, of Saratoga Springs, was sentenced June 28 to 1 to 3 years incarceration, after pleading to failure to register as a sex offender. 

Robert Kitchen, 55, of Mechanicville, pleaded June 28 to attempted sexual abuse in the first-degree. Sentencing Aug. 13. 

Isaiah M. Macault, 24, of Albany, pleaded June 28 to robbery in the second-degree in connection with an incident in Moreau. Sentencing Aug. 20. 

James T. Love, 47, of Wilton, was sentenced June 25 to 1 year incarceration in connection with second-degree attempted assault charges, and 3 to 9 years in connection with third-degree arson charged, to run consecutively. 

Lacey Utter, 22, of Broadalbin, pleaded June 30 to criminal contempt in the first-degree, in connection with an incident in Milton. 

Eric J. Buell, 37, of Gansevoort, pleaded June 23 to felony DWI, in connection with an incident in Wilton. Sentencing Aug. 18. 

Neil Devoe, 18, of Troy, was sentenced June 23 to 2.5 years in state prison, and 10 years post-release supervision, after pleading to rape in the second-degree, in connection with an incident in Mechanicville in October 2020. 

Devan D. Hildebrandt, 29, was sentenced June 23 to 1 year jail for each count to run concurrently, after pleading to two counts of burglary in the third-degree, in connection with an incident in Saratoga Springs. 

Justen S. Roberts, 24, of Cohoes, was sentenced June 22 to 2.5 to 5 years in prison and 1 year local concurrent, after pleading to burglary in the third-degree, in connection with an incident in Waterford. 

Matthew J. Stephens, 20, of Wilton, was sentenced June 22 to 60 days in county jail and five years of probation, after pleading to grand larceny in the fourth-degree, in connection with an incident in December 2020.

Shamika Penn, 31, of Buffalo, was sentenced June 22 to time served and five years of probation, after pleading to grand larceny in the fourth-degree, in connection with an incident in Moreau. 

Frank J. Flinton, 33, of Ballston Spa, was sentenced June 22 to 6.5 years plus 2 years post-release supervision, in connection with charges of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third-degree, regarding incidents taking place in the town of Saratoga and the town of Wilton June 3 to July 15, 2020, and 1 year incarceration on charges of disseminating indecent materials to minors in the first-degree.   

Erik J. Klebauskas, 44, of Wilton, was sentenced June 21 to five years probation, after pleading to aggravated DWI with a child. 

POLICE

Joseph Deschenes, 50, of Saratoga Springs, was charged June 21 with misdemeanor criminal trespass.

Chad Lang, 47, of Saratoga Springs, was charged June 22 with misdemeanor criminal trespass and felony burglary. 

Justin Zayas-Sanchez, 21, of Saratoga Springs, was charged June 23 with criminal mischief as a felony. 

Jordan Garafalo, 38, of Saratoga springs, was charged June 25 with felony assault, and the misdemeanors: criminal mischief, menacing, criminal contempt, criminal possession of a weapon, harassment, act in manner injure child. 

Vincent L. Avila, 22, of Schenectady, and Michael T. May, 25, of Mechanicville were charged June 24 in connection with an incident that occurred in a hotel in Malta on July 4, 2020. The incident was reported in April of 2021 and the investigation resulted in allegations that May hosted an overnight party from July 3, 2020 through July 4, 2020, at which he provided alcohol and marijuana to minors and where there was also sexual activity being conducted, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department. It is further alleged that at the party, Avila had oral sexual contact with two females, one 16-years-of-age and one 17-years-of-age at the time. Avila is charged with one count each of Criminal Sex Act and Sexual Abuse as well as Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Unlawfully Dealing with a Child. May, is charged with one count each of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Unlawfully Dealing with a Child.

Hundreds of cars drive down McMaster Street in Ballston Spa on a daily basis, but few may notice the beautiful old bell that sits silently on display in front of Building 1 of the Saratoga County Complex.

This bell hung in Saratoga County’s third Courthouse which was erected in 1890 and stood on the location where Building 5 is today (50 West High Street). The bell was purchased from the Clinton H. Meneely Bell Company in Troy, New York for just over $800. The inscription on the exterior reads:

The Latin phrase “Nullus Liber Homo Capiatur” means “Let no free man be seized.” The pealing of the bell was most likely a common background noise in the village, though it seems not everyone was thrilled with its melody. A small mention in The Schuylerville Standard published shortly after the bell was installed noted, “People who have been in the habit of hearing the cheery sound of the old court house bell at every session of court, are now called together by the lugubrious tones of the new bell.” (The Schuylerville Standard October 28, 1891) Like it or not, the bell rang frequently. Besides being rung when court was in session, it was almost certainly used on special occasions and may also have signaled the time.

Thanks to newspaper articles, we know it was also used to alert village residents of danger. In December of 1892, accused murderer Martin Foy used a fake revolver consisting of a tin foil-covered stick to threaten the jailer into handing over the keys. Foy was able to unlock the door and escape onto High Street. According to the Buffalo Currier, “County Clerk Grose, who saw the escape, at once rang an alarm on the courthouse bell and over 100 men started after the fleeing desperado up Remsen Street and across lots to McDonald’s grove, half a mile south of the village, where he attempted to conceal himself in the brush.” (Buffalo Currier, December 16 1892). Thankfully, he was captured in short order. Incidentally, he was found by none other than Tommy C. Luther, well-known proprietor of the White Sulphur Springs Hotel.

On an early morning in August 1894, the courthouse bell rang feverishly to let villagers know that four prisoners had escaped the jail and were loose on the streets of Ballston Spa (Niagara Falls Gazette Aug 17, 1894). They had filed the lock off their cell door and tied bed sheets together to slide down the wall and run away.

Over time, the bell was probably used less and less, being replaced by more modern means of communication and time pieces. By 1961, the stately courthouse building over which the bell hung had begun to show its age and there was concern over the strength of the walls in the bell tower. The county decided to remove the 2,500 pound bell to ensure the safety of the public in making sure the structure did not fail. A contractor from Saratoga Springs was hired to remove the bell and as part of his payment, he would be allowed to keep it for salvage. Ballston Spa residents, nostalgic for the sounds of the old bell, disagreed with this plan and came up with their own solution. The Ballston Spa Village Board paid the salvager $500 to save the bell from being scrapped and decided to display the bell within the village. A fundraiser collected $400 which was to be put toward purchasing a base or pedestal once the location question was settled.

While awaiting that decision, the bell was removed and stored on the second floor of the Ballston Spa Village garage on Thompson Street. In 1968, tragedy struck. On Friday, March 8, the village garage caught fire and was completely destroyed. However, the bell fared far better than the highway equipment stored inside. It was a bit worse for wear but still in one piece.

Then Director of Planning, Larry Gordon, had the bell removed from the rubble at the site of the garage and put plans in motion to finally give the tired old bell a place in the sun at the new Saratoga County Municipal Complex on McMaster Street. Two years later the 1891 courthouse bell was unveiled and dedicated on July 4, 1970. The Ceremony included Town of Charlton Supervisor Fred Hequemburg as Master of Ceremonies and several
other speakers.

This year marks the fifty-first anniversary of the bell’s relocation to McMaster Street where it still resides, despite a massive fire and the threat of the smelter’s pot, thanks to a group of citizens concerned with its preservation.

Lance E. Abare, 23, of Corinth, pleaded June 17 to felony grand larceny. Sentencing Aug. 19. 

Henry J. Desnoyers, 50, of Troy, pleaded June 16 to aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, in connection with an incident in Malta. Sentencing Aug. 18. 

Tyler J. Gaston, 26, of Clifton Park, was sentenced June 16 to 4 years incarceration on each count to run consecutively for a total of 8 years in state prison: two counts felony sexual abuse in the first-degree, two felony counts assault, one misdemeanor count criminal obstruction of breathing, harassment in the second-degree, a violation. 

Adoniram Huntington, IV, of Moreau, was sentenced June 16 to 1 year incarceration after pleading to felony burglary. 

Jeffrey S. Casey, 19, of South Glens Falls, was sentenced June 16 to 5 years of probation, after pleading to felony burglary, in Moreau. 

William M. Heeney, 50, of Saratoga Springs, pleaded June 16 to false sworn statement in the first-degree, a felony, first charged October 2020 in Ballston Spa. Sentencing Aug. 12.

Jack Radley, 23, of Clifton Park, was charged June 15 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, and moving from lane unsafely. 

Jalon Chandler, 24, of Albany, was charged June 19 in Saratoga Springs with operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs, and moving from lane unsafely. 

Jennifer Rivers, 29, of Saratoga Springs, was charged June 19 with misdemeanor assault. 

Noel Hubert, 30, of Saratoga Springs, was charged June 19 with misdemeanor DWI, and four driving violations. 

Brandon Caster, 24, of Schenectady, was charged June 20 in Saratoga Springs with resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.

Daniel Richards, 23, of E. Longmeadow, MA, was charged June 11 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, misdemeanor aggravated DWI, reckless endangerment, and two driving violations.

Jeramy Zepf, of Wilton, was charged June 12 in Saratoga Springs with felony criminal mischief.

Alexandra Bullis, 28, of Duanesburg, was charged June 12 in Saratoga Springs with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor.

Peter Cashera, 34, of Schenectady, was charged June 13 in Saratoga Springs with felony criminal contempt.

John Crogan, 42, of Watervliet, was charged June 14 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, refusal to take a breath test, and failure to keep right.

Norman Lamphear, 56, of Northampton, was charged June 14 in Saratoga Springs with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor. 

John B. Fleeeman, Jr., 23, of Fort Ann, was charged June 21 with second degree felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth-degree, a misdemeanor. Fleeman is accused of striking a person in the head with a crowbar at the Dollar General Store in Milton. The victim was sent to Saratoga Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. 

POLICE

Georgios N. Kakevelos was found guilty of murder in the first-degree and several additional felony charges at the conclusion of a six-week long jury trial on June 17 in Saratoga County.  The conviction is in connection with the death of 22-year-old Allyzibeth A. Lamont in late October 2019, in the city of Johnstown in Fulton County. Lamont had worked for Kakevelos at his sandwich shop and deli in Johnstown.  The jury found Kakevelos hired employee James Duffy to assist him with the murder and removal of the victim to a grave site in Malta, according to Saratoga County District Attorney Karen Heggen. The jury returned a guilty verdict on the following felony charges: murder in the first-degree, conspiracy in the second-degree, two counts concealment of a corpse, and six counts of tampering with physical evidence. Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 19 at Saratoga County Court in Ballston Spa. 

Jonathan Lawless, 30, of Saratoga Springs, was charged June 9 with misdemeanor DWI, and a driving violation. 

Robert Rich, 30, of Saratoga Springs, was charged June 10 with misdemeanor DWI, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident-Fail show license/insurance ID, speed not reasonable and prudent, moved from lane unsafely, refusal to take breath test. 

Charles Walz, 32, of Saratoga Springs, was charged June 10 with criminal mischief misdemeanor, and felony burglary.   

Matthew S. Lawrence, 24, of Corinth, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first-degree (felony); assault in the third-degree, DWI, reckless driving (all misdemeanors), speed not reasonable and prudent, failure to keep right, moving from lane unsafely, and consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle (infractions). Lawrence is accused of operating a motor vehicle in an intoxicated condition at a time when his driver’s license was suspended for an alcohol-related conviction from April 2021. His 2001 Ford F350 struck a 2017 Mercedes Benz occupied by 4 people — all of whom needed to be transported to Saratoga Hospital by ambulance for evaluation and treatment of non-life threatening injuries, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s office. The incident occurred June 10 on Main Street in the Town of Corinth. Lawrence was arraigned and sent to the Saratoga County Jail in lieu of bail or bond to await further action in the matter. 

Nicholas C. Moffitt, 32, of Moreau, was charged June 16 with felony assault, obstructing governmental administration, and criminal mischief, in connection with an alleged incident that occurred in the town of Moreau. 

Jerry Carpenter, 64, of Saratoga Springs, was charged June 7 with harassment in the second-degree. 

Steven Tourtellot, 47, of Saratoga Springs, was charged June 7 with misdemeanor petit larceny. 

Kalen Minott, 25, of Saratoga Springs, was charged June 7 with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, license plate missing/displayed improperly, and failure to keep right. 

Joseph Deschenes, 50, of Saratoga Springs, was charged June 7 with criminal trespass, as a misdemeanor. 

Michael Redd, 19, of Malta, was charged June 8 in Saratoga Springs with criminal contempt, a misdemeanor. 

Joanne Thompson, 50, of Albany, was charged June 8 in Saratoga Springs with two felony counts of criminal sale and two felony counts criminal possession of a controlled substance. 

Qwanna Davis, 30, of Schenectady, was charged June 8 in Saratoga Springs with criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor. 

Steven McCarthy, 43, of Saratoga Springs, was charged June 9 with felony DWI, refusal to take a breath test, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth-degree – a felony, motor vehicle registration suspended, motor vehicle license violation, and a vehicle equipment violation. 

Aaron Edwards, 40, of Corinth, was charged June 9 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, reckless driving, driving on the wrong side of the street, license plate missing/improperly displayed, failure to keep right, speed not reasonable or prudent, vehicle equipment violation, refusal to take breath test. 

David Brown, 65, of Cohoes, was charged June 9 in Saratoga Springs with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, motor vehicle registration suspended, and operating a motor vehicle without insurance. 

Carmen Cammuso, 37, of Glenvile, was charged June 9 in Saratoga Springs with aggravated harassment in the second-degree. 

Devin Orphan, 21, of Rotterdam, was charged June 9 in Saratoga Springs with criminal contempt in the first-degree, and aggravated family offense – both felonies, and act in manner injure child, a misdemeanor. 

COURT

Coleen R. Riley, 32, of Clifton Park, was sentenced June 9 to five years of probation, after pleading to felony burglary in the third-degree. 

Louis S. Guerra, 46, of the Bronx, pleaded June 9 to criminal contempt in the first-degree, and aggravated family offense – both felonies, in connection with allegations first charged in June 2020 in Saratoga Springs. Sentencing Sept. 22. 

Zachary Gaspie, 20, of Mechanicville, pleaded June 9 to possessing a sexual performance by a child, a felony. Sentencing Aug. 11. 

Jeremy M. Depasquale, was sentenced June 9 to 1.5 to 3 years in state priosn, after pleading to attempted burglary in the third-degree, a felony, in Saratoga Springs first charged December 2020. 

Keith A. Meader, 49, of Ballston Spa, was sentenced June 2 to five years of probation, after pleading to criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth-degree.

POLICE

Matthew E. Scoons, 43, of Malta, was charged June 7 with two felony counts of assault in the second-degree, one felony count of criminal mischief in the third-degree, two counts of obstructing governmental administration, and resisting arrest. Scoons is accused of shoving another person to the ground, breaking their wrist in the process. He is also accused of shattering a glass door by punching it and of causing physical injury to one of the deputies who was attempting to take him into custody, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department. 

Adam Humphrey, 29, of Mayfield, was charged June 4 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, and failure to stop at a stop sign. 

Justin Diamond, 25, of Ballston Spa, was charged June 4 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, misdemeanor aggravated DWI, and a vehicle equipment violation. 

Ashley Jubrey, 33, of Mechanicville, was charged June 3 in Saratoga Springs with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and an equipment violation. 

Jonathan Emery, 29, of Saratoga Springs, was charged June 4 with DWAI – with a prior conviction in the past 10 years rising to a felony, and failure to obey a traffic control device. 

Randy Jones, 53, of Saratoga Springs, was charged June 5 with disorderly conduct.

Kelly Irish, 29, of Malta, was charged June 5 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, misdemeanor aggravated DWI, refusal to take a breath test, moving from lane unsafely, and a license plate violation. 

James Garafolo, 27, of Saratoga Springs, was charged June 5 with criminal mischief in the third-degree, a felony. 

James Everett, 63, of Saratoga Springs, was charged June 5 with DWI, aggravated DWI, and moving from lane unsafely. 

Anderson Vargas, 29, of Clifton Park, was charged June 6 in Saratoga Springs with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and speeding. 

David Hunt, 27, of Rensselaer, was charged June 6 in Saratoga Springs with disorderly conduct. 

Nikihya Williams, 36, of Troy, was charged June 6 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, and an equipment violation. 

Thomas L. McDermott, 53, of Wilton was charged June 3 with aggravated harassment in the first-degree, a felony. The charges follow a two-month investigation into a report of a bias-related incident that occurred on a construction site in the town of Rotterdam. The incident was reported by an employee at the construction site and immediately reported to state police by an onsite supervisor. McDermott is accused of using construction materials to assemble a small figure resembling a person of color, which he then hung with a noose made of twine, according to state police.

COURT

Samantha Germain, 28, of Greenfield, was sentenced June 2 to 1.3 to 4 years in state prison, after pleading to criminal contempt in the first-degree. 

Loreal D. Bass, 40, of Schenectady, pleaded May 28 to felony grand larceny in connection with an incident in Saratoga Springs first charged February 2020. Sentencing July 29. 

Hunter Burnette, 20, of Middle Grove, pleaded May 28 to promoting a sexual performance by a child. Sentencing July 29. 

Charles L. Bennifield, 20, of Greenfield Center, pleaded May 28 to reckless endangerment, in connection with an incident first charged September 2020 in Saratoga. Sentencing July 29. 

Matthew R. Dryer, 38, of Utica, was sentenced May 28 to 1.5 to 3 years in state prison, after pleading to felony grand larceny, in connection with an incident in Halfmoon. 

Steven Lawless, 62, of Albany, pleaded May 28 to attempted grand larceny in the second-degree, and grand larceny the fourth-degree, in connection with incidents in Moreau and Clifton Park, respectively. Sentencing July 7. 

Desmond C. Sirchia, 48, of Corinth, was sentenced May 28 to six months local incarceration and five years of probation on the charged of vehicular assault in the second-degree, first charged March 2020 in Corinth. 

POLICE

Alfred J. Guilder, 53, of Corinth was charged June 2 with six felony counts criminal possession of a controlled substance, and one felony count criminal sale of a controlled substance. Guilder is accused of distributing quantities of crack cocaine and heroin throughout Saratoga County. 

Michael Sharp, 41, of Saratoga Springs, was charged May 31 with misdemeanor DWI, and speeding. 

Jose Flete-Bautista, 47, of Saratoga Springs, was charged May 31 with felony criminal mischief. 

Todd Campbell, 39, of Saratoga Springs, was charged June 1 with harassment in the second-degree.

Laura Capone, 29, of Saratoga Springs, was charged June 1 with harassment in the second-degree.

Andrew Bremer, 24, of Saratoga Springs, was charged June 1 with assault in the third-degree. 

William McGarry, 32, of Ballston Spa, was charged June 2 in Saratoga Springs with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle without stop lamps. 

Jonas Vladimarsson, 18, was charged June 1 with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and failed to stop at a stop sign. 

Christopher Post, 39, of Ballston Spa, was charged June 2 in Saratoga Springs with criminal possession of a controlled substance. 

Emily Roerig, 33, of Ballston Lake, was charged June 2 in Saratoga Springs with criminal possession of a controlled substance. 

Steven Spost, 38, of Greenfield Center, was charged June 3 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, and failure to use designated lane. 

Royal Hamilton, 40, of Salem, was charged June 3 in Saratoga Springs with assault in the third-degree, criminal possession of a narcotic drug – felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance – felony. 

Elizabeth Milligan, 19, of Corinth, was charged June 3 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, reckless driving, failure to keep right, speed not prudent, driving on/across a sidewalk, and operating motor vehicle without inspection certificate. 

Jessica Beranek, 39, of Ballston Spa, was charged May 28 in Saratoga Springs with operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs, and failure to keep to the right. 

Ryan Colgan, 25, of Albany, was charged May 29 in Saratoga Springs with criminal mischief. 

Florence Millington, 30, of Saratoga Springs, was charged May 30 with assault in the third-degree. 

Amanda Mogul, 28, of Binghamton, was charged May 29 in Saratoga Springs with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor. 

Christopher Brewer, 39, of Saratoga Springs, was charged May 30 with misdemeanor assault and criminal obstruction of breathing. 

James Cornell, 45, of Corinth, was charged May 30 in Saratoga Springs with act in manner injure child less than 17, a misdemeanor.   

Curtis Bennifield, 18, of Milton, was charged May 24 in Saratoga Springs with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and obstruct governmental administration.

Bryan Austin, 35, of Queensbury, was charged May 24 in Saratoga Springs with criminal trespass, a misdemeanor. 

Stephine Schleimer-Harris, 32, of Saratoga Springs, was charged May 25 with obstruct governmental administration. 

Bryan Browne, 54, of Galway, was charged May 26 in Saratoga Springs with criminal possession of stolen property with a value greater than $3,000 – a felony. 

POLICE

Paul J Bush, 30, of Green Island, was charged May 20 in Saratoga Springs with two felony counts criminal sale of a controlled substance, and two felony counts criminal possession of a controlled substance. Bush is accused of selling heroin mixed with fentanyl on two different occasions. Erica Luce, 31, of Ballston Spa, was charged May 19 in Saratoga Springs with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and a suspended registration. 

Aaron Knaggs, 41, of Schenectady, was charged May 21 in Saratoga Springs with unlawful dissemination or publication of an intimate image, a misdemeanor. 

Adrienne Parker, 32, of Saratoga Springs, was charged May 21 with acting in a manner to injure a child. 

Nicholas Snopkowski, 35, of Clifton Park, was charged May 22 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, and driving a vehicle without signal devices/ reflectors. 

Kevin Pimental, 34, of Castleton-on-Hudson, was charged May 22 in Saratoga Springs with criminal contempt in the second-degree, a misdemeanor. 

Siahr Siddiqi, 32, of Schenectady, was charged May 23 in Saratoga Springs with assault in the third-degree, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth-degree. 

Hayley Linehan, 27, of South Glens Falls, was charged May 23 in Saratoga Springs with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and speeding. 

Joseph A. Manasseri, 34, of Milton, was charged May 24 for promotion of a sexual performance by a child, and possession of a sexual performance by a child. Both charges are felonies. Manasseri is accused of possessing and promoting images consistent with child sexual exploitation via the internet, according to state police. He was arraigned in Malta Town Court and sent to Saratoga County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash/$30,000 bond.

Stephen R. Frank, 44, of South Glens Falls, was charged May 24 in Moreau with charged with strangulation in the second-degree - a felony, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child – a misdemeanor, and DWI. Frank is accused of applying pressure to the throat of another person with the intent to impede the normal breathing or blood circulation of that person - an act allegedly that occurred in the presence of two children. While attempting to locate Frank at his residence, he is accused of arriving at that location operating a motor vehicle in an intoxicated condition, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s office. 

Joseph Casholle, 22, of Cairo, was charged May 17 in Saratoga Springs with assault in the second-degree, a felony. 

Edward Smith, 60, of Albany, was charged May 18 in Saratoga Springs with felony grand larceny. 

Randy Jones, 53, of Saratoga Springs, was charged May 18 with disorderly conduct: obscene language/ gestures. 

Kenneth Curley, 36, of Saratoga Springs, was charged May 18 with misdemeanor DWI, refusal breath test, speeding, and failure to keep right. 

Robert Southard, 26, of Saratoga Springs, was charged May 19 with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operating an unregistered vehicle, and license restriction violation. 

Michael Redd, 19, of Malta, was charged May 14 in Saratoga Springs with criminal contempt.

George Miller, 44, of Utica, was charged May 14 in Saratoga Springs with petit larceny.

Adam Burger, 39, of Saratoga Springs, was charged May 14 with assault, and acting in manner injure child. 

David Hagen, 46, of Saratoga Springs, was charged May 14 with criminal trespass in the second-degree, a misdemeanor. 

Andrew Meade, 36, of Ballston Spa, was charged May 14 in Saratoga Springs with disorderly conduct: fight/ violent behavior. 

Erin Haegele, 34, of Saratoga Springs, was charged May 14 with acting in manner injure child. 

Steven Maronic, 70, of Saratoga Springs, was charged May 15 with criminal trespass in the third-degree, a misdemeanor. 

On May 24, the New York State Police in Wilton participated in a Border-to-Border initiative. This four-hour traffic initiative aims at coordinating multiple law enforcement agencies to conduct highly visible seat belt enforcement and encourages drivers and passengers to buckle up. State police, along with our law enforcement partners at Vermont State Police, Washington County Sheriff’s Office (NY), Rutland County Sheriff’s Office (VT), Granville Police Department (NY), Fair Haven Police Department (VT), and Castleton Police Department (VT), conducted enforcement of seatbelt and child restraint laws along the New York-Vermont border in Washington County. During the detail, 72 total citations were issued, 10 were for seatbelt violations.
