Kelly J. O'Connell VanAlstine


Gansvoort, NY – Kelly J. O’Connell VanAlstine passed away Saturday, November 19, 2011, at her home. She was 49.

Born on December 20, 1961, in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Helen Agosta O’Connell. Kelly graduated from Saratoga Springs High School, specializing in cosmetology. She worked at JC Penny’s as a hair stylist. Kelly was a loving wife, mother and sister. She was an active church member of the Wilton Baptist Church, teaching in their Sunday and nursery schools, also a member of the women’s Bible study.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald VanAlstine, Jr., whom she married on November 1, 1999; daughter, Colleen (Kevin) Chambers of San Diego, CA; sons, Scott and Daniel VanAlstine; step-son, Robert VanAlstine, Latham NY; sisters, Sharon (Joseph) McDermott of Lyndhurst, NJ, and Kathryn (Jeffrey) Palmer of Schoharie; stepmother, Maud O’Connell; step-sisters, Sandy Hannam and Eileen Cunningham; step-brothers, William and Thomas Hannam; in-laws, Ronald and Katherine VanAlstine, Sr. of Mayfield; sister-in-laws, Connie (Joe)Larkin of Latham, Penny (Albert) Giddings of Houston, TX; four nieces and nephews and many good friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at the Wilton Baptist Church, 755 Saratoga Rd., Wilton.

Burial will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville.

Investigation into the matter led to the arrest of Julia H.
